Job DescriptionJob Title: Structural Steel WelderJob Description We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling steel components used in commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of welding techniques and structural steel standards. Responsibilities • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project specifications., • Weld structural steel components using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques., • Operate cutting, grinding, and welding equipment safely and efficiently., • Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with industry standards., • Perform layout, fitting, and fabrication of steel assemblies., • Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to ensure quality and timely completion of projects., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies., • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.Essential Skills, • Proficiency with measuring tools and fitting techniques., • Strong understanding of structural steel and fabrication processes., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings., • Skilled in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in inspecting welds for quality and compliance., • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and fabricators.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a mostly outdoor fabrication shop, known as one of the largest in Bakersfield. You will be creating various steel structural products, offering a dynamic and hands-on work experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
