Job Description Ogden & Company, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Property Accountant to join our Property Management Division. This position is responsible for the complete monthly accounting cycle and financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of condominium associations, multifamily communities, commercial properties, or a combination thereof. The Property Accountant works closely with Property Managers, Administrative Staff, Executive Leadership, Board Members, and clients to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting while maintaining compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment. This position has the opportunity to be hybrid (in office and remote after initial training period. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Perform all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle for an assigned portfolio of properties., • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules., • Prepare, review, and post journal entries., • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts., • Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies., • Monitor cash balances and assist with cash management., • Process and review accounts payable transactions., • Analyze financial statements and investigate account variances., • Serve as the primary accounting contact for Property Managers, Board Members, and clients regarding financial reporting and accounting matters., • Assist in preparing annual operating budgets, reserve budgets, and financial forecasts., • Prepare annual operating expense reconciliations., • Assist with year-end audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting., • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls., • Cross-train with other Property Accountants to provide departmental support., • Perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience., • Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience., • Experience performing month-end close and preparing financial statements., • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)., • Experience with property management software such as Vantaca, Yardi, RealPage, MRI, or similar systems., • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls., • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy., • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement., • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills., • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, Board Members, Property Managers, vendors, and coworkers., • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, accounting software, and business technologies., • Ability to interpret financial reports, contracts, correspondence, and business documents., • Strong mathematical aptitude, including reconciliations, allocations, percentages, budgeting, and financial analysis., • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive financial information., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency., • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high professional standards.
