Job Description Job Title: Cook Job Description This role prepares, cooks, and presents a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events, while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. Responsibilities • Accurately prepare and portion hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events., • Cook a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards., • Set up, maintain, and break down the line and prep stations to ensure readiness for each meal period., • Ensure all food is prepared and held at proper temperatures and in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift, including equipment, utensils, and prep surfaces. Essential Skills • Proven experience working as a cook or line cook in a foodservice environment., • Strong food preparation and cooking skills across a variety of hot and cold menu items., • Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines accurately., • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a professional kitchen, cafeteria, or similar foodservice setting., • Experience as a cook, line cook, food prep worker, or chef., • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team., • Flexibility to support special events and catered functions as needed. The dress code includes black pants, a black shirt, and non-slip shoes to support safety and a consistent professional appearance. The role involves standing for extended periods, working near hot equipment, and managing multiple tasks in a busy, fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
