Job Description Job Title: Server & Waiter/Waitress Job Description The Server will assist with serving customers in a new upscale lounge facility. Will assist with taking and serving food and drink orders, bussing tables, and processing payments. Responsibilities • Serve meals and beverages promptly and courteously to patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a café and cafeteria environment., • Provide attentive customer service, answering questions about menu items and assisting guests with their orders., • Perform cashier duties, including operating a cash register, handling payments accurately, and balancing transactions., • Stock food, beverages, and supplies in service areas to ensure items are readily available throughout the shift., • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining area by regularly wiping tables, cleaning counters, and removing trash., • Carry out cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, deep cleaning, and custodial/housekeeping duties to uphold sanitation standards., • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items., • Adhere to hospital and kitchen policies related to hygiene, safety, and infection control., • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café and cafeteria operations and timely meal service., • Perform heavy work as needed, including lifting, moving supplies, and supporting back-of-house operations., • Communicate effectively with a diverse customer base and colleagues to resolve issues and maintain a positive environment., • Remain flexible to work assigned shifts, including the 1:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. shift and other hours as needed. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of serving experience in a food service or similar customer-facing environment., • Strong ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures in a kitchen, café, or cafeteria setting., • Experience with cleaning, mopping, deep cleaning, and general custodial or housekeeping tasks., • Ability to perform kitchen prep work and support basic food preparation activities., • Capability to perform heavy work, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving supplies as required., • Proficiency in operating a cash register and handling cash or electronic payments accurately., • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with diverse customers, patients, visitors, and team members., • Reliability and flexibility to work the 1:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. shift and adjust to changing schedule needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in janitorial or custodial roles within food service or hospitality environments., • Experience in sanitation-focused work, including adherence to strict cleaning protocols., • RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) Certification or similar credential related to serving beverages., • Prior experience working in a hospital kitchen, cafeteria, or healthcare food services setting., • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction., • Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative approach to supporting kitchen and café operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
