You’ll be the go-to expert for controls, power distribution, and complex troubleshooting that keeps production on schedule. What you’ll do • Own safety: follow OSHA and GM standards and promote safe work practices., • Install, service, and repair plant electrical and control systems., • Diagnose issues rapidly using schematics, meters, and your experience to prevent downtime., • Execute PMs and corrective work on motors, drives, panels, and automation cells., • Collaborate across departments; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives., • Read and interpret complex diagrams, ladder logic prints, and wiring schematics. What you’ll bring, • 6+ years as an electrician or completion of a U.S. Department of Labor electrical apprenticeship (Certificate of Completion)., • Ability to work day/afternoon/night shifts with overtime, weekends, and holidays as required., • Strong problem-solving instincts and a team-first approach., • Comfort with industrial electrical/electronic systems and diagnostics., • Current GM employees under a CBA: contact your local HR/LR for placement options., • Role may be filled as Journeyperson in Training (JIT) or Journeyperson. JIT pay: $36.68–$42.80; Journeyperson: $43.67. Final status and rate depend on credentials and interview results. Physical requirements, • Respond swiftly to alarms, signals, and safety directions., • Stand and move through an active plant environment for extended periods., • Use required PPE; bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach; lift/carry up to 50 lbs. (department dependent)., • Operate mobile equipment when needed; occasional seated work. Compensation, schedule, and location This role is categorized as onsite. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location on a full-time basis.
