Job Description Job Title: Route Sales Driver Pay: $22/hr - $24/hr Location: West Sacramento, CA Shift: Day Shift / Monday - Friday Job Description The Route Sales Driver delivers products to a variety of customer locations, manages inventory and merchandising at each stop, and ensures that machines and displays remain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing. This role operates with minimal supervision, requires extensive time on the road in a box truck similar in size to a moving truck, and involves frequent interaction with customers across multiple industries. Responsibilities • Deliver products safely and on time to assigned customer locations using a box truck similar in size to a moving truck., • Drive for more than 70% of the workday while adhering to all traffic laws and company safety standards., • Load and unload products from the truck, ensuring accurate counts and proper handling to prevent damage., • Stock, rotate, and maintain account inventory, ensuring products are fresh, properly displayed, and easy for customers to access., • Clean and maintain vending machines or display equipment at each stop to uphold a professional and inviting appearance., • Install, replace, and maintain promotional materials and point-of-sale (POS) signage in stores and customer locations., • Complete accurate and legible invoices, delivery records, and related documentation for each account., • Perform basic mathematical calculations to reconcile inventory, cash, and product counts as needed., • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive, courteous, and reliable service., • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to address issues, resolve service concerns, and coordinate deliveries., • Organize daily routes and manage time efficiently to ensure all scheduled stops are completed within required timeframes., • Work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to solve problems and complete tasks., • Support merchandising efforts in-store, including arranging products, maintaining displays, and ensuring shelves and machines are properly stocked., • Follow company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT), and other applicable regulations while operating the vehicle., • Interact professionally with customers across various industries, including entertainment venues, fast food locations, sports facilities, and convenience stores. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent., • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain it in good standing., • Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)., • Minimum 2 years of route driving experience., • Ability to drive more than 70% of the workday., • Ability to lift 55 pounds or more on a regular basis, with occasional lifting in excess of 70 pounds., • Experience with route sales, delivery driving, and box truck operation., • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships., • Enthusiasm and motivation for in-store merchandising and point-of-sale (POS) activities., • Excellent organization and time management skills., • Ability to work as a self-starter and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision., • Strong oral and written communication skills., • Comfort performing basic mathematical functions for inventory, invoicing, and reconciliation., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain positive interpersonal and team relations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in route sales and merchandising environments., • Stocking, inventory management, loading, unloading, and retail support., • Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for commercial driving., • Experience servicing vending machines, displays, or similar equipment., • Comfort working with customers in diverse industries such as entertainment, fast food, sports, and convenience stores. Work Environment The role is primarily field-based, with most of the workday spent driving a box truck similar in size to a moving truck and servicing customer locations. You will operate in a mix of warehouse and store environments, including entertainment venues, fast food locations, sports facilities, and convenience stores. The position involves frequent loading and unloading of products, stocking shelves and machines, and working around standard warehouse and retail equipment. The workday includes significant time on the road and regular physical activity such as lifting, carrying, and moving products. Dress expectations typically align with a practical, safety-focused environment, including the use of steel toe shoes and other appropriate work attire. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
