Job Description Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour Job description: Position Summary The Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Tier 2 is responsible for the daily operation and oversight of Supported Living homes for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring all guidelines under WAC 388-101D and DDA policies are met. This role includes direct support, home maintenance, habilitation support, and leadership to provide a safe, clean, and enriching living environment for the individuals we serve. The Lead DSP ensures the effective implementation of the Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP), Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP), and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP) while maintaining compliance with state regulations and agency policies. This position requires the ability to lead by example, mentor DSP team members, and uphold high standards of care, habilitation, and lifestyle enrichment for the individuals in our homes. Essential Functions The Lead DSP must perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Physical Requirements · Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift). · Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and squatting to assist with mobility support, household tasks, and personal care. · Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including assisting with mobility transfers, grocery bags, and household items. · Ability to push and pull wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment. · Fine motor skills for writing, typing, meal preparation, and other household tasks. · Ability to physically assist individuals with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene. · Ability to drive company or personal vehicles for errands, medical appointments, and community integration. Cognitive & Emotional Requirements · Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations, including medical or behavioral emergencies. · Strong problem-solving skills to adapt to unexpected schedule changes or individual needs. · Emotional resilience to support individuals with complex needs while maintaining professional boundaries. · Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation, team coordination, and individual support. · Ability to read, understand, and implement individual care plans and medical instructions. · Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping, policy compliance, and safety monitoring. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities. --- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Responsibilities Daily Responsibilities · Ensure individuals follow their habilitation goals and daily routines. · Support individuals in personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks. · Encourage and facilitate social activities and community integration. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment. · Document daily progress notes, behavior tracking, and medication logs. · Monitor and address health and safety concerns in the home. · Provide mentorship and oversight to DSP team members. Weekly Responsibilities · Conduct deep home cleaning, including organizing, sanitizing, and laundry. · Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning for the week. · Ensure individuals have appropriate and stylish clothing that aligns with their preferences. · Support budgeting and financial planning for household and personal expenses. · Participate in weekly team meetings and training. · Review and update IISP goal progress with the team. Monthly Responsibilities · Conduct safety, including fire drills and emergency preparedness checks in the home. · Perform home maintenance inspections and report any necessary repairs. · Review and adjust individual service plans to ensure alignment with goals. · Submit monthly reports and compliance documentation to the Program Director. · Ensure that all individuals have engaging community opportunities that reflect their interests. · Assist with medical appointments and coordination of health care needs. --- Leadership & Compliance Responsibilities · Provide mentorship and leadership to DSPs to ensure consistency in care. · Ensure that all staff adhere to WAC 388-101D and DDA policies. · Report any incidents, medication errors, or compliance concerns immediately. · Assist with training new DSPs and modeling appropriate support techniques. · Maintain professional and respectful relationships with families, guardians, and external providers. · Serve as a point of contact for emergencies in the home. --- Qualifications & Requirements · A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education in a related field is preferred. · Minimum of one year of experience in Supported Living, direct care, or a related field. · Familiarity with DDA policies, ISP documentation, and WAC 388-101D compliance. · Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. · Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and tracking progress toward individual goals. · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. · Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check. · CPR, First Aid, and other required certifications (or willingness to obtain). --- EEO Statement Community Concept is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace.
