Job Description Janitor/Helper – Second Shift (OT AVAILABLE, $16/HR) Job Description This role focuses on operating a riding floor scrubber and performing general cleaning and labor tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment on second shift. You will work independently across the facility, ensuring production floors remain debris‑free, supporting housekeeping needs, and assisting production teams with basic labor tasks as required. Responsibilities • Operate a riding floor scrubber throughout the facility to keep production floors clean, debris‑free, and safe., • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and general housekeeping in production and common areas., • Monitor floor and facility conditions, proactively identifying and addressing spills, debris, and potential safety hazards., • Assist with general labor duties such as material handling, organizing work areas, and supporting production teams when needed., • Conduct basic equipment checks on the riding floor scrubber and related cleaning tools, and promptly report maintenance needs., • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment., • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning schedules, priorities, and facility needs., • Adapt to changing facility requirements and support additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations. Essential Skills • 1+ years of janitorial experience., • Experience with janitorial, cleaning, and custodial or housekeeping tasks., • Ability to operate or learn to operate industrial cleaning equipment such as riding floor scrubbers., • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with active production areas., • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness., • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks., • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, and pushing equipment., • Reliable attendance and dependability for second shift work., • Willingness to support additional duties, including general labor, assembly, production, and packaging support as needed., • Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience operating industrial cleaning equipment, such as scrubbers and floor cleaning machines, is preferred but not required., • Experience in general labor, assembly, production, or packaging environments., • Mechanical aptitude to perform basic equipment checks and identify maintenance needs., • Experience with housekeeping or custodial work in industrial or large facilities., • Comfort working around mechanical equipment and production lines. The work is physically active and involves standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. You will work around production lines, machinery, and materials, following established safety procedures to maintain a clean and organized environment. The setting is fast‑paced, with changing priorities driven by production and facility requirements, and you will collaborate closely with supervisors and production teams while often working independently to complete assigned tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $16.00/hr.
