Location: Saxmundham Contract Type: Temp-Perm Hours: 45 hours per week Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with extensive civil engineering expertise to lead and manage complex infrastructure projects. The role requires strong leadership in delivering heavy civil engineering works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. A key aspect of this position is effective stakeholder engagement, maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee all phases from design and preconstruction through to construction and handover, managing resources, programmes, risk, and commercial performance. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, cost control, and continuous improvement, with a focus on driving project success and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead project delivery from design through to completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and company procedures Produce and manage financial forecasts, cost control, and monthly performance reporting Develop and maintain construction programmes and resource plans Chair site and stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear communication and accurate record keeping Manage and coordinate site investigations, subcontractors, and supply chain partners Prepare estimates for additional works and support tendering activities Drive health, safety, and environmental compliance, setting high standards of leadership in HSE practices Manage quality assurance processes, including Inspection and Test Plans and as-built documentation Maintain strong stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment of project objectives and expectations Foster a collaborative team environment and support staff development Skills Extensive civil engineering project management experience, particularly in heavy civils, highways & infrastructure. Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management Proven ability to manage direct labour and subcontractors Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills Sound commercial awareness and cost control expertise Proficient in programme and risk management Ability to challenge designs and resolve complex problems Experience with contract management, preferably NEC contracts Strong planning and organisational skills Ability to work independently and deliver projects with minimal supervision Software/Tools Primavera P6 or equivalent project management software Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Certifications & Standards Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent CSCS Manager's Card (Black Card) SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) NEBOSH Construction Certificate (preferred) Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) certification (preferred) Knowledge of NEC contracts, including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms TPBN1_UKTJ
