EHS Engineer (Temporary) \n Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-16:00) Reporting to: EHS Manager \n Role Overview \n We are looking for a proactive and experienced EHS Engineer to join our team on a temporary basis. This role will play a key part in strengthening Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and risk management across our operations. \n The initial focus will be on clearing a backlog of risk assessments and COSHH assessments, while also contributing more broadly to the EHS management system and ongoing compliance activities. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead the completion and review of risk assessments and COSHH assessments across site operations\n, • Develop, maintain, and improve risk assessment and COSHH registers\n, • Support the effective operation of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 management systems\n, • Participate in incident investigations using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D)\n, • Support internal EHS audits and compliance monitoring\n, • Contribute to the review and maintenance of the legal compliance register and statutory obligations\n, • Maintain EHS records, registers, and required documentation\n, • Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and audits\n, • Deliver EHS training across the site\n\n Candidate Requirements \n Essential: \n\n • NEBOSH Certificate (or actively working towards it)\n, • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and COSHH assessments in a manufacturing or industrial environment\n, • Strong working knowledge of UK EHS legislation\n, • Experience supporting or working within ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems\n, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively\n\n Desirable: \n\n • Direct experience working with hazardous chemicals and COSHH management\n, • Experience with ISO 50001\n, • HNC/HND in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar)\n\n Key Skills & Attributes \n\n • Proactive, self-motivated, and takes ownership of tasks\n, • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels\n, • Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving\n, • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail\n, • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment\n, • Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships\n\n This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated EHS professional to make a real impact on a temporary basis within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
