MTrec’s new career opportunity \n Our clients are specialists in their market sector, they are looking to recruit a Maintenance Electrician on a permanent basis to work a continental shift system. \n If you are a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician and happy to work a continental shift system this role could be ideal for you. \n The Job you’ll do \n\n • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in accordance with maintenance schedules, company procedures and statutory requirements.\n, • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults and restore plant and equipment safely and efficiently.\n, • Carry out electrical fault finding, testing, repair and maintenance on production equipment, control systems and site services.\n, • Support mechanical maintenance activities, equipment overhauls and planned shutdown work where required.\n, • Complete maintenance work to a high standard, ensuring equipment is returned to service safely and reliably.\n, • Accurately record maintenance activities, labour, parts used and equipment history using the company's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\n, • Identify equipment defects and raise additional work requests where further repairs or improvements are required.\n, • Contribute to Root Cause Analysis investigations to identify recurring equipment failures and support the implementation of permanent corrective actions.\n, • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency and operational performance.\n, • Support the installation, commissioning, modification and improvement of plant, machinery and associated infrastructure.\n, • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and equipment handovers where required.\n, • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Engineering and other departments to minimise downtime and support business objectives.\n, • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation in line with company standards (5S).\n, • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) requirements.\n, • Support statutory inspections and compliance activities relating to plant and equipment.\n, • Assist in the development and support of apprentices and colleagues where appropriate.\n, • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the level and responsibilities of the role.\n\n About You \n\n • Recognised engineering apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Multi-Skilled Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.\n, • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\n, • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).\n, • City & Guilds or 2395 (Inspection and Testing).\n, • PLC training or fault-finding experience.\n, • Hydraulics and pneumatics training or experience.\n, • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.\n, • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Root Cause Analysis training.\n, • MEWP, FLT or First Aid qualifications.\n, • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings and technical documentation.\n, • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise workload, work independently using initiative and respond effectively to changing production demands.\n, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments and contribute positively as part of a team.\n, • Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship, with excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.\n, • Proactive and solutions-focused, taking ownership of work, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and contributing to equipment reliability.\n, • Flexible, professional and adaptable, with a positive attitude, high integrity and a willingness to learn, develop new skills and share knowledge with others.\n\n The Rewards and the Benefits \n\n • Permanent job.\n, • Continental shift pattern.\n, • Competitive pay rate.\n
