Working across industries and geographies, you’ll partner with colleagues, clients, and partners to co‑create solutions that drive digital transformation and lasting impact.Your role and responsibilities- Architect complex event‑driven solutions using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, and lead the technical relationship with strategic enterprise accounts.- Own the technical discovery process, mapping business pain points to Confluent product value propositions using the CLUSTER framework.- Serve as a trusted thought partner, driving the “technical win” during critical phases of the customer lifecycle.- Lead comprehensive technical discovery sessions with high‑value prospects to uncover customer challenges and the underlying why.- Support opportunity qualification and participate in MEDDPICC framework activities, filling technical criteria, building champions, and shaping business wins.- Develop, conduct, and manage the technical execution of RFPs/RFIs, building and customizing PoCs that demonstrate Confluent’s low‑latency streaming advantage.- Act as an escalation point for complex technical objections and systemic issues, leveraging deep knowledge of Kafka/Flink internals.- Advocate for customers internally, sharing key field learnings and architecture patterns across core internal Slack channels to influence product roadmaps.Required educationBachelor’s DegreeRequired technical and professional expertise- Production‑level experience with Apache Kafka internals and the Confluent Ecosystem, including Confluent Cloud, Schema Registry, Connectors, and ksqlDB.- Strong hands‑on experience with Apache Flink for stateful stream processing, including state management, checkpointing, windowing, and Flink SQL optimization.- High proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python for building custom event‑driven applications, producers/consumers, or user‑defined functions (UDFs).- Solid understanding of cloud provider ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Kubernetes/Operators), and hybrid/on‑prem deployment patterns.- Robust knowledge of security frameworks (mTLS, SASL/SCRAM, OAuth), data privacy regulations, and schema evolution (Avro, Protobuf).- Exceptional communication skills, delivering customized presentations from low‑level developers to C‑suite executives.- Strong understanding of competitor products and the ability to set competitive traps.- Clear understanding of consumption‑based cloud pricing, subscription licensing, and billing models for long‑term customer value.Preferred technical and professional experience- 3–5 years in a highly technical, customer‑facing role (e.G., Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Enterprise Data Architecture).- Fluency in Spanish and English.IBM is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer.
