Job Description Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa is seeking professional, energetic, and service-oriented Valet Attendants to join our award-winning team. As one of the first and last associates our guests encounter, the Valet Attendant plays a vital role in creating memorable first and last impressions. Valet Attendants embody the Woodside Spirit by anticipating guest needs, delivering personalized service, and ensuring every arrival and departure is warm, gracious, and effortless. The primary responsibility of this position is the safe, efficient, and courteous parking and retrieval of guest vehicles while providing exceptional guest service. Valet Attendants are entrusted with guests' vehicles and personal property and are expected to exercise the highest level of professionalism, care, and integrity. When operational needs require, Valet Attendants may also assist with bell services to ensure a seamless luxury guest experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Greet every guest and visitor promptly with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor., • Provide exceptional guest service throughout each guest interaction while representing Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa in a courteous and professional manner., • Safely park, retrieve, and deliver guest vehicles in accordance with established valet procedures., • Maintain secure control of guest vehicle keys at all times while following all key control procedures., • Perform a visual inspection of each vehicle upon arrival and accurately document any existing damage., • Assist guests with luggage during arrival and departure., • Welcome guests by opening vehicle and hotel entrance doors whenever appropriate., • Escort guests to the Front Desk and provide an overview of hotel amenities and services., • Provide directions, transportation assistance, and recommendations regarding hotel amenities and local attractions., • Respond promptly to guest requests while maintaining a positive and service-focused attitude., • Maintain the porte cochere, valet podium, and guest arrival areas in a clean, organized, and inviting condition., • Monitor the arrival drive to ensure traffic flows safely and efficiently., • Communicate effectively with the Front Desk, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service., • Assist with luggage delivery, room escorts, package assistance, or other limited bell services when business demands require., • Promote hotel amenities, including Park Bistro & Bar, The Spa at The Park, and other hotel offerings., • Coordinate vehicle retrieval efficiently to minimize guest wait times., • Maintain valet equipment in excellent working condition and report maintenance concerns promptly., • Follow all departmental policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and service standards., • Operate guest vehicles responsibly while adhering to all traffic laws and hotel driving procedures., • Immediately report accidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, or guest incidents to management., • Work cooperatively with all hotel departments to provide an exceptional luxury guest experience., • Promptly acknowledge every guest within 10 feet with eye contact, a smile, and a warm greeting., • Protect guest privacy and maintain strict confidentiality regarding guest information and vehicles., • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Regular attendance in conformance with hotel standards is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, based upon the operational needs of the hotel. Upon employment, all associates are required to comply with all Hotel policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of the property. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in valet parking, hospitality, guest services, luxury hotels, or customer service is preferred but not required. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS • Must possess a valid California Driver License., • Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable under the Hotel's insurance carrier., • Must successfully meet the requirements of the Hotel's DMV Pull Notice Program., • Must be at least 21 years of age. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
