Job DescriptionJob Title: Route DriverJob Description The Route Driver collects donated goods from designated donation bins by operating a company box truck along scheduled routes. This role ensures that all donations are picked up safely and efficiently, accurately recorded, and delivered to the appropriate locations while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and safety on the road. Responsibilities • Drive a 16’–26’ straight box truck along assigned routes to collect donated goods from designated donation bins., • Follow a route-based schedule and maintain punctuality to ensure timely pickups and deliveries., • Load and unload donated materials efficiently and safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs on a regular basis., • Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic safety checks before, during, and after routes., • Use route software and collection logs to track pickups, inventory, and delivery information accurately., • Organize and manage multiple stops, logs, and collections throughout the day while maintaining clear documentation., • Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, and the public at donation sites., • Adhere consistently to company safety procedures, defensive driving practices, and operational policies., • Monitor traffic and route conditions, adjusting plans as needed while maintaining service and schedule commitments., • Ensure the security and proper handling of the company vehicle and all collected goods., • Support operations and warehouse coordination by accurately transferring collected items and related data., • Complete data entry related to collections, inventory, and route activities in a timely and accurate manner.Essential Skills, • Proven experience driving box trucks, with 2+ years preferred., • Safe driving skills and strong vehicle operation abilities for 16’–26’ straight trucks., • Reliable time management and punctuality in a route-based work environment., • Physical strength and stamina to lift and move items up to 50 lbs regularly., • Clear and professional communication skills with supervisors, team members, and the public., • Strong organization and multitasking skills to handle routes, logs, and collections simultaneously., • Ability to use route software and collection logs for tracking pickups and deliveries., • Competence in loading and unloading materials efficiently and safely., • Attention to detail for logging activities, performing inspections, and tracking collections accurately., • Problem-solving skills to manage traffic delays, route changes, and unexpected issues on the road., • Commitment to consistent adherence to safety procedures and company policies., • Defensive driving skills and strong awareness of surroundings., • Accountability and responsibility for managing a company vehicle and collected goods., • Self-motivation and comfort working independently with minimal supervision., • Basic data entry skills for recording route and inventory information.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with logistics and route planning., • Exposure to commercial driving environments., • Background in operations and warehouse coordination., • Ability to manage and execute multiple routes efficiently., • Professional interpersonal skills for interacting with the public at donation sites., • Ability to maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks., • Focus on routine vehicle inspections and safe use of equipment.Why Work Here?
