Details\n \n • Work in an 18-bed Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a 351-bed community teaching hospital in an urban setting in High Point, NC\n, • Patient population includes those with NSTEMI, post-STEMI, heart failure, post-stroke, thoracic surgery, electrophysiology procedures, and respiratory failure requiring medium/high flow oxygen or NIPPV\n, • Patients may require continuous cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring including pharmacological titration of cardiac anti-arrhythmic drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Cardene, Dobutamine, Tridil, etc)\n, • RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 depending on interventions\n, • EMR: Epic (experience noted)\n, • Monitoring equipment includes Philips Intellivue in-room monitors with arterial line interface; IV pumps are Baxter; medication dispensing via Omnicell\n, • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week\n, • Every other weekend rotation required\n, • No on-call responsibilities\n, • Floating required within the critical care division or Intermediate Care\n Requirements\n \n, • Active NC or compact RN license required\n, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required\n, • Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry or PCU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year\n, • Proficiency in cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, rhythm strip interpretation, arterial lines, drip titration, non-invasive ventilator care (BiPAP/CPAP), vascular lines, chest tubes/drains, post-procedure site care (trans radial bands, femoral sheaths, post EP pacemaker/ICD, post pulmonary artery thrombectomy)\n, • 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration\n, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n, • Responsibilities include continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation — the RN is directly responsible for this, not a remote monitoring team\n, • Unit support includes CNAs, a charge nurse (who also serves as resource nurse), rapid response team, respiratory therapists 24/7, and hospitalists 24/7\n, • Orientation consists of 36 hours in week one (including nursing technology orientation and online CBL via Healthstream) plus one 12-hour departmental orientation shift with an RN preceptor\n, • Scheduling operates on a 6-week cycle; RTO requires resource team approval\n, • 75% of assigned holidays are required to be worked\n, • Required scrub color: Royal Blue\n, • Free parking available on-site\n, • This facility has a collaborative, high-tech, team-focused unit culture\n, • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted\n, • Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible\n, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n, • A clinical interview is required\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-732347.
