POSITION TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOUNDATION DEPARTMENT: LEADERSHIP FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT JOB SUMMARY This position leads the ShareHouse Foundation, a 501(c)3, whose mission is fundraising and development to support the mission of ShareHouse Inc. This leader will work in partnership with the ShareHouse Foundation Board of Directors (BOD) and ShareHouse Inc. President/CEO in setting strategic goals and executing initiatives. This position develops and leads fundraising strategies and programs to cultivate philanthropic support for the organization, while a small but growing Foundation team. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS • The Executive Director Foundation manages the Board & Event Specialist, • The Executive Director Foundation reports directly to the Foundation Board of Directors, • The day-to-day operations are supervised by the President/CEO of ShareHouse Inc., with whom the Executive Director works in close partnership BENEFITS • 401(k) match, • Dental insurance, • Flexible spending account, • Health insurance (100% paid for single plan), • Health savings account, • Life insurance, • Pet insurance, • Generous PTO package, • Vision insurance, • Short term disability, • Employee assistance plan, • Reduced gym memberships, • Array of voluntary benefits, • Paid holidays DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FUNDRAISING (70%) • Work to build and enhance relationships with potential and past donors to solicit annual gifts for continued funding or programs, • Establish and manage processes and procedures for funds, recognition of donors, use of funds, etc. to ensure accuracy and efficiency, • Work within all vehicles of giving - special events, planned giving, annual giving, and major giving to provide multiple gifting opportunities to current and potential donors, • Partner with President/CEO to execute major gift asks through the development of a portfolio., • Responsible for achieving annual fundraising goals across individual, major, planned, and event-based giving., • Builds, manages, and actively participates in a portfolio of major donors and prospects, including direct solicitation and stewardship. Strategic Leadership • Develop and execute a multi-year philanthropic strategy that increases charitable revenue and supports the long-term sustainability of ShareHouse., • Identify emerging philanthropic trends and opportunities that advance the mission and strategic goals of the organization., • Establish measurable fundraising objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report progress to the Foundation Board. Financial Oversight • Partner with the Foundation Treasurer and Finance Department to oversee Foundation assets, investments, endowments and restricted funds., • Monitor fundraising performance against budget and provide financial forecasts to the Foundation Board. FOUNDATION ADMINISTRATION (20%). • Helps assist in establishing procedures, practices and policies that determine appropriate use of gifts and ensure legal, accurate, and ethical solicitation and use of gifts in accordance with ShareHouse Foundation Board directives, • Schedule, organize and facilitates all BOD meetings, retreats and other BOD activities to ensure regular meeting times, timely exchange of information, and education opportunities for Board members, • Responsible for timely and accurate communication with the BOD to provide all information necessary for the BOD to function properly and to make informed decisions. Responsible for the fiscal integrity and management of ShareHouse Foundation to include submission to the BOD of a proposed annual budget, which accurately reflects the financial condition of the Foundation., • Provide leadership in the advocacy of ShareHouse and representation of the organization at outside meetings in a positive manner to increase awareness of substance use disorder and mental health, generate interest and understanding of program to develop donation and philanthropic opportunities, • Recruit, orient and retain board members for ShareHouse Foundation Board of Directors to ensure appropriate representation and diversity for the Foundation SHAREHOUSE INC. LEADERSHIP (10%) • Attending ShareHouse Inc. leadership meetings and activities as needed., • Partner with President/CEO and Board and Event Specialist to lead all aspects of ShareHouse Marketing. PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Write, maintain and update policies that govern the ShareHouse Foundation, • Communicate Foundation events, activities and other relevant information to ShareHouse staff, • Serve on committees as assigned by BOD QUALIFICATIONS • Requires Bachelors degree, preferably in related discipline such as business administration, management, finance or similar program., • Five years experience of progressively responsible fundraising, business development, sales or non-profit leadership., • Experience working with non-profit boards., • Familiarity with various forms of Giving Platforms (Donor Dock, Donorbox, etc.) and Gift/Giving Programs (Annual, Major, Planned, etc.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Masters degree, preferably in related discipline such as business administration, management, finance or similar program., • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)., • Experience leading a non-profit foundation or development department., • Experience with capital campaigns or endowment development. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS • Achieve annual fundraising goals established by the Foundation Board., • Grow major donor participation and philanthropic revenue., • Increase donor retention and stewardship effectiveness., • Strengthen board engagement in fundraising activities., • Expand community awareness and support of ShareHouses mission.
