The Electronics Test Technician performs a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical tests on systems, subassemblies, and components to verify functionality, ensure compliance with specifications, and identify causes of product failures. Responsibilities • Read and interpret test procedures, work orders, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test manuals., • Conduct functional testing of systems, subassemblies, and components under various environmental conditions, including temperature, vibration, pressure, and humidity., • Set up and operate test equipment such as digital multimeters, hi-pot testers, signal generators, frequency meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes., • Analyze test results and troubleshoot defective units to determine root cause down to the component level., • Monitor and record electrical characteristics including voltage, frequency, resistance, capacitance, inductance, and distortion., • Compare test results against specifications and accurately document findings., • Identify and document defects; return units requiring minor repairs to production and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for major issues., • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production personnel to resolve testing and product performance issues., • Develop custom test setups for non-standard products and customer-returned units., • Maintain accurate testing records and ensure compliance with quality standards.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in electronics troubleshooting and electrical testing., • Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and setting up test equipment., • Ability to troubleshoot at the component level., • Skill in monitoring and recording voltage, frequency, and resistance.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High School Diploma or GED., • 1–2 years of experience, training, or education related to electronics testing., • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and specifications., • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This is an onsite position in a manufacturing facility, where you will be exposed to electronic testing equipment and production environments. The role may require standing, walking, and handling components throughout the workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Maria, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
