Job Description Job Title: Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing trucks, construction rental equipment, and forklifts. You will apply your small engine knowledge and MIG welding experience to perform structural repairs, particularly on truck beds. The position offers a high level of independence and requires someone who can effectively manage their own day and prioritize work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repairs on trucks, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and in optimal working condition., • Service and repair construction rental equipment, including diagnosing issues and completing timely corrective actions., • Carry out repairs and maintenance on customer equipment, providing thorough and accurate work to meet customer expectations., • Perform MIG welding on truck beds and related components, ensuring strong, clean, and structurally sound welds., • Interpret and work from blueprints or technical drawings to complete repairs and fabrication accurately., • Troubleshoot mechanical issues on small engines and other equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of welding experience, with strong proficiency in MIG welding., • At least 2 years of experience in small engine maintenance and repair., • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings., • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing accurate diagnostics. Work Environment You will work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and typical shop conditions. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is hands-on and tool-intensive, involving regular use of welding equipment, mechanical tools, and shop machinery. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe footwear, and appropriate work attire suitable for a shop setting and welding activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Council Bluffs, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
