GTI Values: Safey I Quality I Customer Obsession I Speed I Agility Position Overview The Global Product Certification Manager leads GTI's enterprise Product Certification Program, ensuring products, manufacturing processes, testing, inspection, and certification activities consistently meet applicable building codes, customer requirements, and certification standards. The role provides technical leadership for product approvals, facility certifications, compliance programs, and code interpretation while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and third-party certification agencies to establish standardized processes that ensure compliant products are consistently designed, manufactured, and delivered across all GTI locations. Key Responsibilities Product Certification Strategy • Develop and lead GTI's enterprise Product Certification Program., • Establish standardized processes supporting product approvals and manufacturing certifications across all facilities., • Develop strategies for maintaining compliance with applicable building codes, customer requirements, and certification programs., • Identify emerging certification requirements and coordinate implementation across the organization. Building Codes & Technical Standards • Serve as GTI's technical authority for building codes, product standards, and certification requirements., • Interpret and communicate applicable code and customer requirements to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams., • Monitor changes to applicable codes and standards and implement enterprise-wide updates., • Support Engineering during product development to ensure certification requirements are incorporated into product designs. Product Certifications & Manufacturing Approvals • Lead manufacturing facility certification and approval activities., • Develop and maintain enterprise compliance control programs and supporting documentation., • Coordinate product approvals with third-party certification organizations and inspection agencies., • Support certification readiness for new manufacturing facilities, products, and markets., • Ensure product labels, certification marks, data plates, identification systems, and supporting documentation satisfy applicable certification requirements. Inspection Systems & Manufacturing Controls • Establish standardized inspection methodologies supporting certified products., • Define inspection checkpoints, acceptance criteria, and testing requirements throughout the manufacturing process., • Develop standardized procedures supporting inspections, testing, traceability, and certification documentation., • Improve inspection effectiveness through standardized documentation and electronic reporting systems., • Ensure manufacturing controls support consistent product certification across all facilities. Enterprise Standardization • Standardize certification processes, inspection systems, and supporting documentation across all GTI manufacturing locations., • Develop enterprise procedures, standards, and work instructions supporting certified products., • Share best practices and lessons learned across manufacturing facilities., • Drive continuous improvement of certification and compliance processes. Technical Leadership • Serve as the primary technical liaison with certification organizations, inspection agencies, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)., • Support customer, certification, and third-party audits., • Provide technical guidance regarding product certification requirements throughout the organization., • Develop and deliver training related to building codes, product certifications, inspection systems, and compliance control processes. Key Deliverables • Enterprise Product Certification Program implemented across all manufacturing locations., • Successful manufacturing facility certifications and product approvals., • Standardized compliance control processes supporting certified products., • Consistent inspection and testing methodologies across all facilities., • Effective product traceability and certification documentation., • Reduced certification-related nonconformances., • Improved product approval and certification cycle times., • Standardized enterprise procedures supporting future products and markets.Requirements, • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Industrial Technology, Quality, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience., • Seven (7) or more years of experience supporting product certification, building codes, manufactured structures, modular construction, industrialized buildings, or factory-built products., • Experience developing or maintaining compliance control programs, certification documentation, quality manuals, or manufacturing quality systems., • Experience working with third-party certification organizations, inspection agencies, or product approval bodies., • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems, inspection processes, and product certification requirements., • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and applicable construction standards. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with manufactured housing, modular construction, industrialized buildings, or factory-built products., • Experience supporting manufacturing facility certifications and product approvals., • ISO 9001 Quality Management System experience., • Experience with UL, Intertek, ICC, PFS, NTA, RADCO, or similar certification organizations., • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), ICC certifications, Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent technical certifications. Authority This role has authority to: • Define enterprise standards supporting GTI's Product Certification Program., • Establish enterprise procedures governing product certification, inspections, testing, and certification documentation., • Standardize interpretation of applicable building codes and certification requirements across all manufacturing locations., • Require corrective actions to address certification or product conformity risks., • Escalate technical risks that could impact product certification, customer acceptance, or market access., • Lead enterprise initiatives supporting product certifications and manufacturing approvals.
