Job Description Music Therapist Location: Lake Katrine, New York Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Music Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury. As a Music Therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients, providing music therapy interventions that are goal-oriented, evidence-based, and individualized to each client. Responsibilities: Assessments and Goal Setting: Perform assessments of clients to identify needs and set short and/or long-term goals. Music Therapy Interventions: Provide music therapy interventions that are goal-oriented, evidence-based, and individualized to each client. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other disciplines to develop goals for clients during co-treatment sessions and communicate relevant client information and progress at interdisciplinary team meetings. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document services and/or interventions provided in the electronic medical records. Supply and Resource Management: Assess current and future music supplies/resources, and submit requests as needed. Professional Development: Participate in growth opportunities to maintain professional competency, including continuing education and relevant literature. Staff Education: Provide staff education about the role of music therapy for client care. Client Support: Prepare materials and resources needed for clients both during and outside of music therapy sessions and facilitate community performances by hosting events where clients can perform music for one another. Leadership: Lead individual and group sessions. Requirements: Education: Undergraduate in Music Therapy- MTBC Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in health care, neurorehabilitation or brain injury care preferred.
