Job Description Groundskeeper / Maintenance Porter Apartment Services, Inc. – Windsor Mill, MD Full-Time | Outdoor Work Required | May Rotate Between Properties Pay: $16 hourly and Transportation Allowance Job Overview: Apartment Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hard-working Groundskeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming community for our residents. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and values being part of a team. Key Responsibilities: • Walk the property daily to pick up trash, remove debris, and maintain dog waste stations and dumpster areas, • Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and mulching, • Use hand tools and power equipment (leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.), • Remove snow and apply salt to sidewalks and steps during winter weather, • Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked, • Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns to the Service Supervisor, • Assist with unit “make-ready” tasks as requested, • Follow company safety procedures and property security protocols, • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Ability to operate power tools and landscaping equipment, • Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and outdoor maintenance, • Good time management and attention to detail, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent, • Valid driver’s license required, • Reliable transportation required; may be assigned to multiple properties during a shift, • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work (standing, walking, bending, kneeling), • Able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), • Availability for emergency response during inclement weather Benefits: • Transportation Allowance, • 8 Paid Holidays, • Paid Funeral Leave & Jury Duty Leave Health Benefits (eligible 1st of month after 60 days): • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, • Employer-paid Life Insurance, • Voluntary Life Insurance, • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability, • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Retirement (eligible after 3 months, age 21+): • Traditional & Roth 401(k) options Additional Perks: • Employee Recognition Program, • Discounted Housing (more details available during interview)
