Job DescriptionJob Title: Production AssemblerJob Description This role focuses on assembling and building high-quality garage door components of varying lengths, from 7 feet to 40 feet. You will work from standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each door model, using hand and power tools to cut, bend, fasten, and finish parts. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work area while meeting production schedules. Responsibilities • Assemble and build garage door parts and components ranging from 7 feet to 40 feet in length according to established specifications., • Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each specific model of door to ensure consistent quality and accuracy., • Cut and bend metal railings using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring precise measurements and clean cuts., • Measure, cut, and fit foam board into designated spaces within door assemblies to meet design and insulation requirements., • Bolt, rivet, and fasten door components securely using hand and power tools to create complete, structurally sound assemblies., • Load parts and finished pieces onto conveyor systems or other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner., • Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet required tolerances before and after assembly., • Inspect work for quality, identifying and correcting defects or inconsistencies prior to moving products to the next stage., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping and workplace organization practices., • Adhere to planned production schedules, managing tasks to complete assignments on time and support overall output goals., • Assist other departments or team members when needed to support workflow, cross-functional tasks, or special projects., • Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures while using hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment.Essential Skills, • Experience with mechanical assembly, including using hand tools and power tools to build or repair components., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cutting, fitting, and verifying dimensions., • Comfort lifting and handling materials weighing approximately 50–75 pounds on a regular basis., • Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts and working with metal and other construction materials., • Ability to follow written and visual instructions, including standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper fit, and high-quality finished products., • Capability to work efficiently to meet planned schedules and production targets., • Willingness to assist other departments and adapt to changing production needs., • Previous assembly or machine operation experience preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior experience in a production, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly environment., • Experience operating basic shop equipment and tools, including drills, rivet tools, and cutting tools., • Ability to interpret simple diagrams, drawings, or blueprints related to assembly work., • Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and accuracy., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and tools.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a large, well-kept production shop that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The facility is described as very nice and well maintained, providing a clean and orderly environment for daily work. You will work with hand and power tools, metal railings, foam board, and conveyor systems as part of the assembly process. Standard work hours for the day shift are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the night shift operates Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The first day for all shifts runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The position is hands-on and physically active, involving regular lifting, measuring, cutting, bending, and assembling components throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST FARGO, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
