Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance and Facilities TechnicianJob Description This entry-level Maintenance & Facilities Technician role supports both manufacturing equipment and overall facility operations in a busy production environment. You perform preventative maintenance, assist with machine repairs, maintain the building and grounds, respond to facility service requests, and work closely with experienced maintenance mechanics on a variety of projects. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to grow a long-term career in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities • Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and scheduled upkeep., • Assist experienced maintenance mechanics with machine repairs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting larger maintenance projects., • Carry out facility repairs and general building maintenance, including minor plumbing, HVAC support, carpentry tasks, and basic repair work as needed., • Change oils and fluids, grease equipment, and complete other basic mechanical service tasks to keep machinery running smoothly., • Maintain plant areas, including cleaning, organizing materials, and supporting janitorial tasks to ensure a safe and orderly environment., • Support grounds and exterior upkeep, including snow removal, landscape maintenance, and general outdoor facility care., • Perform restroom maintenance and general upkeep of both manufacturing and office areas to meet cleanliness and safety standards., • Respond to facility service requests from various departments and prioritize work orders based on urgency and operational impact., • Operate pallet jacks and move materials safely throughout the facility to support maintenance and production activities., • Work collaboratively with mechanics, maintenance personnel, production teams, and outside vendors to keep operations running smoothly., • Follow preventative maintenance schedules, document completed work, and help strengthen and rebuild the maintenance program under evolving department leadership., • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting overtime, weekend work, and responding to weather-related or facility emergencies when required., • Use hand and power tools, construction materials, and appropriate PPE to complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.Essential Skills, • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems., • Experience and comfort using hand tools and portable power tools in a maintenance, automotive, construction, or facilities setting., • Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and routine servicing., • Ability to perform entry-level maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure., • Reliability and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and respond to facility or weather-related emergencies when necessary., • Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities and support several departments at once., • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively with mechanics, maintenance staff, production teams, and outside vendors., • Physical ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach, and lift up to 35 pounds., • Capability to operate pallet jacks and safely move materials in a manufacturing environment., • Basic troubleshooting skills for machinery and facility systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in automotive, construction, property maintenance, or skilled trades is highly relevant for this role., • Experience in roles such as Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Maintenance Apprentice, HVAC Helper, Facilities Custodian with maintenance experience, Construction Laborer, Carpenter Helper, Machine Operator with maintenance experience, Service Technician, Equipment Technician, Property Maintenance Worker, Apartment Maintenance Technician, or Grounds Maintenance Technician., • Exposure to plumbing repairs, HVAC repair assistance, carpentry, and landscape maintenance., • Experience working in a manufacturing, machine shop, or automotive repair environment., • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled facility., • Willingness to learn from experienced mechanics and grow into more advanced maintenance responsibilities over time.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing and machine shop environment that is not temperature controlled, so you work in varying seasonal conditions. You operate around automated manufacturing equipment, manual machinery, production lines, and facility systems in a hands-on, active maintenance shop similar to an automotive repair facility or machine shop. The department is evolving under new leadership focused on strengthening preventative maintenance programs and improving overall operations, offering the chance to contribute to building better processes while gaining valuable experience. You spend most of your shift standing and walking, frequently bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching, and you regularly lift up to 35 pounds and operate pallet jacks to move materials. Work occurs both indoors and outdoors as needed, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
