River Towne Care and Rehabilitation Center, a Pyramid Healthcare facility, is in Columbus, GA. The Center provides long-term skilled nursing care and short-term post-acute rehabilitation, including a 30-bed ventilator unit. Job Summary: The CNA Shower Team is responsible for providing safe, thorough, and compassionate bathing and personal hygiene care to residents in accordance with individualized care plans. This role focuses on maintaining resident comfort, dignity, and privacy while performing scheduled showers, grooming tasks, and basic skin assessments. The CNA Shower Team ensures proper documentation, follows all infection control and safety protocols, and communicates any changes in resident condition to nursing staff. Working collaboratively with other CNAs and nursing personnel, this position helps promote resident well-being and supports daily care routines within the facility. Job Duties: · Assist residents with scheduled showers following individualized care plans · Complete the shower preference sheet within 24hours upon a new patient’s arrival · Complete shower completion sheets for patients daily · Ensure resident safety during bathing, including use of transfer belts, lifts, and non-slip equipment · Perform skin assessments before and after showers and report concerns to nursing staff · Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, and comfort throughout the bathing process · Prepare shower room, gather supplies, and ensure a clean, safe environment · Provide perineal care, hair washing, nail care (non-clinical), and grooming as assigned · Document shower completion, skin observations, and care provided in EMR/flow sheets · Assist residents with dressing and hygiene following showers · Communicate any changes in resident condition to charge nurse · Follow infection control, PPE, and facility safety protocols · Clean and sanitize shower rooms, equipment, and supplies after each use · Support residents with mobility and transfers safely following facility policies · Coordinate with CNAs on the floor to manage resident schedules efficiently · Offer respectful, compassionate care and support to residents at all times · Additional duties as requested or needed CNA Duties · Provide adjunct care by administering treatments such as enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz baths, and therapeutic baths; as well as applying restraints when necessary. · Maintain patient stability by regularly checking vital signs, monitoring weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output data. · Enhance patient comfort by utilizing available resources and materials, transporting patients, responding to patient requests, and reporting any changes in the patient’s condition to the nursing supervisor. · Document patient care and activities accurately through forms, reports, logs, and medical records in accordance with organizational standards. · Ensure smooth work operations by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining consistency in care delivery. · Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality, ensuring all sensitive patient information remains secure. · Uphold integrity by following professional standards, Pyramid Health policies and procedures, and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. · Stay current with industry knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional literature, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure. · Contribute to the nursing department by accepting ownership of new responsibilities and proactively exploring ways to add value to job functions. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED ACTIVE GA CNA Certification CPR and First Aid Certification Work Conditions: · Work is typically performed in a skilled nursing facility setting, with potential exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. · Full-time, part-time, or PRN shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays as needed. · Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and interdisciplinary teams. · May require occasional evening or weekend hours, particularly during outbreaks, emergencies, or survey preparation. · Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for infection control purposes. · May be required to lift and carry objects over 10 lbs. · Must be able to assist with or maneuver equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, and Hoyer lifts · Frequent walking, standing, and occasional bending or kneeling may be necessary when conducting audits or inspections throughout the facility. · Must be able to wear appropriate PPE as required and lift educational materials or small equipment. Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
