We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.What will you be doing?As a Project Manager you will be part of our Project Management team who are responsible for managing a HV Substation project for National Grid within the South Gloucestershire area.Project - Iron ActonThis role will require regular travel as you will need to attend substation sites 2-3 times a week. A driving licence is required. Leading the construction team in delivering projects through the end to end process from project initiation to completionStrategic health, safety and environmental management and leadership to drive the highest standardsDelivery of the projects to the agreed time, cost and quality requirementsWork closely with the planning team to ensure delivery programmes are in place and progress is monitoredDrive the Project team ethos to ensure the Construction Manager, Commercial Manager, Design Lead and Project Engineers function as a cohesive management teamDrive risk management for the ProjectsProvide leadership and guidance on technical and contractual matters to ensure timely resolutionContribute to new contract tender bids using industry knowledgeSupport the preparation of monthly CVR in conjunction with the Commercial ManagerBeing commercially astute, lead the management team to deliver the balanced scorecard and meet/exceed contract financial terms and targetsWhat youll bring National Grid Substation build experience - including workable knowledge of NG SRs, Rules, EPC / M&E FrameworkProven leadership on Design and Build projects, managing cross functional teamsExcellent stakeholder management skills engaging with clients and suppliersQualification in construction / engineering and / or relevant experienceQualification in Project Management (APM, PMP etc.)Strong commercial experience with NEC contractsDemonstrated ability to manage risk and opportunityStrong regulatory knowledge including HSWA, CDM, EAWR etc.Ability to drive a project through all life cyclesExperience managing budgets with history of delivery to time and costHistory of using Project Management softwareFull UK Driving licenceWhats in it for you? 25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMy Car Choice our salary sacrifice EV/ Hybrid car schemeCar AllowancePrivate health care and health care cash plan for you & your familyDiscretionary bonus schemeMatched or contributory pension schemeOnline GP service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a yearEmployee assistance programmeLife assuranceEnhanced maternity, paternity leave and adoption leaveAbout usWe want to be an employer of choice and a great place to work, attracting diverse and talented people, who join us and make a difference.
