MB975: Works ManagerLocation: CumbriaSalary: £60,000 - £65,000Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekAdditional Company Benefits: Exceptional Career Development Opportunities, Company Car/Car Allowance (Depending on job grade), Pension matched up to 8%, 25 days annual leave – plus holiday (opportunity to buy/sell leave will be implemented from January 2026), Private medical insurance, Free 24/7 EAPOverview:First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic national construction business who are looking to recruit a Works Manager on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Cumbria depot.Duties and Responsibilities: \n\n • Take overall responsibility for the safe delivery and performance of site operations on major projects\n, • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet programme and production targets\n, • Ensure all works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards\n, • Plan and manage materials, plant, and equipment across the site\n, • Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments\n, • Support project planning activities including work programmes and method statements\n, • Lead toolbox talks, task briefings, and promote safe systems of work\n, • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and performance\n, • Collaborate with project teams to support delivery, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives\n, • Support investigations and close out of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns\n\n Skills and Experience: \n\n • Proven experience in a Works Manager or similar role within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, or major construction projects\n, • Strong knowledge of site operations, project delivery, and construction methods\n, • SMSTS and CSCS certification\n, • Solid understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards\n, • Ability to lead teams and drive performance on site\n, • Experience working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders\n\n MB975: Works ManagerLocation: CumbriaSalary: £60,000 - £65,000Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekAdditional Company Benefits: Exceptional Career Development Opportunities, Company Car/Car Allowance (Depending on job grade), Pension matched up to 8%, 25 days annual leave – plus holiday (opportunity to buy/sell leave will be implemented from January 2026), Private medical insurance, Free 24/7 EAP
