Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke operate a joint venture named BYLOR in partnership to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC). The project is worth over £2.8billion and includes a Design & Build (D&B) programme for the HBX Operations Service Centre (OSC). Bylor has set a UK record by pouring 9,000m³ of concrete continuously and is focused on high‑quality construction on a massive scale. The role is based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, an attractive location with easy access to the M5 and cities such as Bristol and Exeter. Senior Project Manager (HBX) – Full time, on‑site. Lead the construction of all permanent works within the Project Manager’s scope, ensuring safety, quality, environmental compliance, and delivery of the programme. Collaborate with T2 subcontractors and an integrated building and building services team to achieve Project goals. • Health / Safety & Environment, • Lead construction to meet HSE rules and regulations., • Execute immediate actions to ensure HSE compliance., • Apply safety and environment management systems, including safety essentials, site‑specific rules, and emergency procedures., • Conduct regular safety inspections and prepare documentation for Client and corporate committees., • Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses., • Quality, • Apply the Quality management system for the scope., • Carry out corrective actions arising from the Quality system., • Identify, report and investigate non‑conformances., • Implement remedial actions and report lessons learned., • Nuclear Safety, • Promote a culture of nuclear safety within the team., • Capture learning and feed‑back to apply across Unit1 and Unit2., • Construction – Permanent Works, • Lead construction within the defined scope and programme., • Identify and manage interfaces with other work areas., • Participate in design, logistics and critical construction meetings for timely decisions., • Construction – Temporary Works, • Arrange and manage access to the area of responsibility., • Liaise with stage‑engineers on the Temporary Works process., • Design / Engineering, • Coordinate with Site Engineering to produce methods documentation., • Advise on general site arrangement drawings., • Highlight issues with design information that impact the programme., • Review method requirements before integration into client design., • Commercial, • Provide monthly progress reports to the Commercial Department., • Assist in managing risks and opportunities; report new risks or opportunities to the senior teams., • Inform on changes and variations; participate in commercial decisions., • Procurement / Supply Chain, • Identify requirements for the scope as part of the procurement process., • Provide input on procurement choices from a technical and operational perspective., • Manage supply‑chain activities within the scope; report interface issues., • People Management, • Coordinate staff activity and ensure adequate resources., • Provide support for recruitment and team development., • Handle disciplinary measures and progress appraisals., • Program, • Collaborate with Project Controls to elaborate short‑term programmes., • Report progress and events that impact the programme to senior teams., • Cost Control, • Provide input for cost estimates and objective development., • Supply monthly progress reports to Finance and explain variances., • Finance, • Inform senior teams of insurance events and provide necessary information., • Experience delivering internal fit‑out projects with MEP coordination., • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse support functions., • Capability to respond to unpredictable risks and manage overlapping phases., • Understanding of standards and processes with clarity, even in ambiguous areas., • Experience in a similar role and demonstrated competence., • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management., • Desirable qualifications: MCIOB/Chartership, SMSTS, NEC contract experience., • Competitive salary., • Private medical insurance., • Company pension scheme., • Annual holiday allowance., • Possible company car allowance.
