\n Job Description\n Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a 36-bed acute inpatient mental health service for men and women with enduring mental health problems in Exeter. You’ll work within an established MDT, providing high-quality clinical leadership while contributing to the ongoing strategic development of the service and wider hospital. \n Salary: Up to £170,000 per annum DOE Position: Consultant Psychiatrist Hours: 37.5 hours per week Setting: Acute inpatient adult mental health service (36 beds) Location: Exeter, Devon Your key responsibilities will be:\n \n • Act as Responsible Clinician for an acute adult inpatient ward\n, • Lead clinical decision‑making and manage complex psychiatric cases\n, • Formulate care plans and deliver evidence-based treatments and interventions\n, • Participate in MDT meetings, ward reviews and CPA meetings\n, • Support and supervise Associate Specialist and wider MDT colleagues\n, • Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation\n, • Contribute to clinical governance, audits and ongoing service development\n For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:\n \n, • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent, approved by Royal College of Psychiatrists\n, • CCT/CESR (or equivalent experience) in General Adult Psychiatry desirable\n, • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility)\n, • Significant experience in acute inpatient or community adult mental health\n, • Strong skills in risk assessment, risk management and independent clinical decision‑making\n, • Candidates without CCT/CESR but with AC status and extensive experience in acute inpatient and working in senior medical/consultant type roles may be considered.\n What benefits are on offer:\n \n, • Competitive salary plus car allowance and retention bonus\n, • Relocation support available for suitable candidates\n, • 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and birthday\n, • Group Personal Pension Plan and life assurance\n, • Enhanced maternity package and wellbeing support initiatives\n, • Free meals on duty and employee assistance services\n, • Ongoing CPD, training and clear career development pathways\n \n #J-18808-Ljbffr
