Job Summary The Business Support Officer provides administrative, operational, and purchasing support to ensure the smooth running of Zara's Pizzas and Fish Bar. The Business Support Officer works closely with the Takeaway Manager and business owner to maintain efficient daily operations, control costs, and support the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities Business Administration and Operational Support • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the business owner and Takeaway Manager., • Maintain accurate business records, including purchase records, supplier invoices, stock records, sales information, and operational documents., • Assist management with reviewing business performance, identifying operational issues, and implementing improvements., • Prepare and organise documents, reports, and records required for effective business management., • Support communication between management, kitchen staff, front counter staff, delivery personnel, and suppliers. Stock Management and Inventory Control • Monitor stock levels of food ingredients, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other operational items., • Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock information regularly., • Conduct stock checks to identify shortages, over-ordering, wastage, or discrepancies., • Assist in forecasting stock requirements based on sales trends, customer demand, and seasonal changes., • Support effective stock rotation and storage procedures to minimise food waste and maintain product quality., • Monitor usage of key ingredients, including pizza ingredients, fish, chips, meat products, vegetables, sauces, and packaging materials. Purchasing and Supplier Management • Assist with purchasing activities, including sourcing and ordering food supplies, packaging materials, and business equipment., • Liaise with suppliers regarding product availability, prices, delivery schedules, and order issues., • Maintain records of supplier details, purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices., • Compare supplier prices and support management in identifying opportunities for cost savings., • Monitor supplier performance to ensure deliveries meet quality, quantity, and timing requirements., • Assist in managing relationships with food wholesalers and other business suppliers.
