The post-holder will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating high-quality, innovative teaching that supports student engagement, achievement and progression.Working collaboratively with teaching and supporting staff members, the Lecturer will establish and maintain strong professional relationships and contribute to the teams performance. The post-holder will participate in service planning, delivery, monitoring and review to support the ongoing improvement of academic provision and ensure a high standard of student support and customer care. They will also engage in relevant staff development and training opportunities to continually enhance their teaching practice and academic responsibilities.Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :Deliver high standards of teaching and learning, and monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirementsProduce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact the effectiveness of learningMark assignments by a specified deadlineAssist in the identification of students individual needs and Act as a Personal Tutor to studentsAttend appropriate meetings between departmentsProvide and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students learningIdentify, share and embed good practice and resources in teaching, learning and assessment and course/subject leadership.Produce digital material, webinars, lecture recordings, marketing material and/or any other related material as and when requiredEngage in the quality assurance process and demonstrate an understanding of the regulations associated with the awarding bodiesDissertation supervision of UG and PG studentsMaintain own continuing professional developmentEnsure compliance with the Schools Health and Safety policyContribute to departmental, faculty, or company-wide working groups or committees as requestedUndertake any other appropriate duties as requested by the Dean.Person SpecificationEssentialExperience teaching and learning at undergraduate, postgraduate or equivalent levelRelevant Masters degreeWorking towards or holding a Postgraduate Certificate in HE (PGCert) or equivalent.Working towards or holding a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).Strong organisational and record-keeping skillsExperience of working with students within a Higher Education or Further Education settingAbility to convey ideas to students from a wide range of backgrounds and with very diverse experiencesDesirableWorking towards or holding a PhD in a relevant disciplineWorking towards or holding a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SHEA).Experience supervising dissertationsExperience in Module LeadershipExperience in teaching research methods and supporting students in selecting research topicsAn understanding of the UK professional frameworksKnowledge of HE quality assurance processesWork-Life Balance: We aim to support and provide a healthy work-life balance for employees who may have personal commitments through the following:Flexible working hoursWorking from home opportunitiesGenerous annual leave (33 days including bank holiday) increasing to 38 days after three years of continuous service)Additional leave between Christmas and New Year, in addition to all public holidaysSpecial leave and compassionate leave for important occasionsFinancial Benefits: The financial well-being of our staff is vitally important to us.
