Job Title: Generalist HR OfficerLocation: ChorleyHours: 37.5 hours per week, on siteReports to: Head of HR Job Purpose\n Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a proactive and organised HR Officer to provide professional and practical HR support across the full employee lifecycle. Working with managers and employees across a multi-site workforce, you will support day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, engagement, wellbeing and HR administration. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR Officer or an ambitious HR Administrator looking for the next step. Key Responsibilities\n Duties and Responsibilities \n\n • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with current employment legislation, company policies and HR best practice.\n, • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, internal platforms and benefits information\n, • Coordinate recruitment activity, including shortlisting CVs, arranging interviews and supporting hiring managers throughout the process.\n, • Support onboarding and induction activities to ensure new starters have a positive introduction to the business.\n, • Assist and triage employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance and capability processes.\n, • Assist with the coordination of health and safety requirements where relevant\n, • Manage a varied HR workload and HR Inbox, prioritising tasks effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.\n, • Use a range of systems, software and digital tools confidently to support efficient HR administration and reporting.\n, • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role and the needs of the business.\nPerson Specification\n\n, • Strong communicator: Able to communicate clearly and professionally\n, • Practical and solutions-focused: Confident providing balanced, pragmatic advice & escalation when needed\n, • Highly organised: Manage priorities, maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.\n, • Proactive and positive: Self-motivated, approachable and willing to get involved\n, • Discreet and professional: Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.\n\n Experience \n\n • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.\n, • Good working knowledge of employment law, HR policies and people management best practice.\n, • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and HR administration processes.\n, • Experience supporting employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance or capability cases.\n, • Experience working with confidential employee information and maintaining accurate HR records.\n\n Skills and Knowledge \n\n • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.\n, • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.\n\n Qualifications \n\n • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR qualification is desirable but not essential.\n
