We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Bullingdon, a Category B remand prison located in Oxfordshire. HMP Bullingdon houses around 1,150 patients aged 18+. This role would suit a GP with a particular interest in delivering end‑to‑end care in long‑term conditions, substance misuse or mental health. The site offers a 24/7 health care service; as part of the role you will complete ward rounds on a 21‑bed inpatient unit with a high level of elderly care, and complete evening receptions. Your responsibilities will vary but will include: • Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and develop your knowledge in areas you would not normally experience within a practice or even an A&E environment., • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis, and make timely decisions regarding future management., • Act as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team, and involve patients in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Undertake appropriate clinical audit to improve clinical outcomes., • Inspire and develop positive, collaborative working relationships across the multidisciplinary team; work with the wider team to ensure effective clinical governance is incorporated into day‑to‑day practice., • Promote multidisciplinary discussions around complex case management, ensuring systems and processes are in place for managing results, letters and tasks. Undertake clinical risk assessments and implement management strategies for risks., • Share and disseminate acquired knowledge with all team members through development sessions and clinical governance meetings or clinical case reviews.
