Overview Job Summary The Sales Application Specialist Biotechnology (SAS Biotech) is a mixed figure including both sales and technical responsibilities, being his/her main job tasks will be to actively promote and sell our products and solutions while keeping a good track on the technical status of the instrumentation park, reagent stocks and IT solutions. He/she will have special focus on the Central Lab and Clinical Areas such as Pathology, Hematology, Genetics Departments, Oncology Labs and Research Institutes, with proven knowledge and hands‐on experience in molecular technologies, particularly Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and qPCR/Real‐Time PCR, and with additional knowledge of Cytogenetics techniques, such as FISH, highly valuable. The SAS Biotech will provide our customers with solutions that adapt to their changing needs, creating a relationship of trust that will bring value to our customers and the Company in the medium and long term. Responsibilities • Achieve sales and commercial targets established by the Company., • Provides application support., • Supports laboratory organization improvement by providing technical advice and tailored solutions, with particular focus on NGS and qPCR workflows., • Encourages cross-selling by providing product information and introducing cost/efficiency molecular techniques, especially NGS, qPCR‐based solutions and Cytogenetics., • Resolves commercial matters related to Cytogenetics with agility, proactively seeking solutions and progressively building autonomy in decision‐making and customer follow‐up., • Be able to present our products and concepts to institutions, end‐user groups, clinicians, and expert groups., • Create a network of trust within the organization and organizes other colleagues in field visits., • Coordination skills to organize instrument installations interacting with the different departments involved (Logistics, Technical Service, Marketing...), as well as to perform product and service demonstrations., • Can keep the training level of our user's instruments and reagents and manage appropriate documentation., • Be a team player that works together with the KAM and Business Unit in the management of opportunities and risks., • Has a global point of view that allows him/her to check the service level offered by the different departments of the Company assigned centers, therefore reducing the risk of complaints., • Provides troubleshooting for technical enquiries., • Solves product incidents at technical level in coordination with HelpLine, Technical Service and Product Managers., • Tender management (specification and profitability analysis, preparation of the necessary documentation, litigation support)., • Provides first level (remote and/or on‐site) of technical support to customer accounts regarding the products, applications and operations, assisting them with the integration of systems in their laboratories., • Ensures the Compliance with Ethical Code.Networking / Key relationships, • Key Account Manager, • Area Manager, • Business Unit (Business Unit Manager, Product Managers), • Technical Support Team (Field Service Engineer, Helpline, Service Area Manager), • Logistics (Customer Service), • Contracting Department, • Quality Assurance / Regulatory AffairsQualifications Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology or related discipline. Experience: Proven experience in molecular biology technologies, with priority given to candidates with solid knowledge and practical experience in NGS and qPCR/Real‐Time PCR workflows. Experience in Clinical Areas such as Pathology, Hemathology and Genetics is also desirable. Knowledge of oncology, genetic testing, oncological markers and molecular diagnostics will be highly considered. Ability to understand, explain and support end-to-end molecular workflows, including sample preparation, assay set‐up, data generation and basic interpretation of NGS and qPCR results. Experience in Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique is highly valuable. Sales experience in the Oncology, Molecular Diagnostics, IVD or NGS market will be favorably considered.
