The service ensures continuous operational support for sportsbook activities, enabling stable and consistent delivery of betting services. /p pbTHE CHALLENGE /b /p pYou will take on a staff, hands‑on role within the database team, directly supporting the 24/7 operation of MSS and customer databases. You will be actively involved in the design, administration, and support of database systems across development, test, and production environments. You’ll be expected to take ownership of complex technical work‑resolving incidents, delivering technical implementations, and working closely with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure robust, secure, and high‑performing database services under high transaction volumes. /p pbKey Responsibilities /b /p pbHands‑On Technical Contribution /b /p ul liTake ownership of complex database activities including performance tuning, troubleshooting, migrations, and architecture design. /li liAct as a senior technical escalation point for complex incidents, including performance degradation, locking and blocking issues, and data integrity problems. /li liParticipate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation to support critical production systems. /li liPromote and apply best practices in database administration, tuning, query optimisation, documentation, and automation. /li /ul pbTechnical Database Management /b /p ul liPerform hands‑on installation, configuration, tuning, patching, and upgrading of Oracle 12c/18c/19c on Linux and Windows platforms. /li liEnsure optimal performance and availability through proactive monitoring and tuning. /li liDesign, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard. /li liCreate and maintain operational documentation and configuration standards. /li /ul pbPerformance Optimisation Query Tuning /b /p ul liAnalyse and optimise SQL queries using execution plans, AWR/ASH reports, SQL Trace, and Oracle Diagnostics Pack. /li liIdentify and remediate inefficient SQL, poor indexing strategies, and suboptimal optimiser statistics. /li liInvestigate and resolve locking, blocking, and deadlock scenarios, including root cause analysis and long‑term preventative measures. /li liWork with application and engineering teams to improve query design, schema structures, and transaction handling. /li liTune memory structures (SGA/PGA), I/O, and resource usage to support high transaction volumes and low‑latency workloads. /li liDesign and implement cloud‑based database solutions using AWS RDS and OCI DBaaS. /li liPerform hands‑on migrations from on‑premises to cloud environments using tools such as Oracle GoldenGate. /li liMonitor and optimise cloud resource utilisation for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability. /li /ul pbSecurity Compliance /b /p ul liImplement and maintain database security controls including auditing, encryption, and access management. /li liCarry out patching and vulnerability remediation in collaboration with infrastructure and security teams. /li liEnsure systems meet compliance and regulatory requirements. /li liDefine and track technical KPIs related to database uptime, performance, reliability, and query efficiency. /li liUse tools such as Oracle Diagnostics Pack, OEM, Zabbix, and Grafana to monitor system health and identify performance bottlenecks. /li liPerform detailed root cause analysis for performance incidents, including SQL regressions, deadlocks, and resource contention. /li liImplement permanent fixes and automation to prevent recurrence of operational issues. /li /ul pbSuccess will be evaluated by /b /p ul liTechnical quality and impact of your hands‑on contributions. /li liReliability, performance, and availability of database systems. /li liEffectiveness in automating database administrative duties, incident handling, change execution, and project delivery. /li liAccuracy and completeness of technical documentation and reporting. /li liProactive improvements in system performance and operational stability. /li liStakeholder satisfaction and service continuity. /li /ul pbABOUT YOU /b /p ul liYou’re a senior‑level Oracle DBA with strong hands‑on experience in Oracle 12c/18c/19c, container/pluggable and autonomous databases, and a track record of delivering in high‑availability environments. /li liYou have experience working collaboratively within DBA or infrastructure teams and supporting less experienced colleagues when needed. /li liYou thrive in deeply technical roles where you’re actively solving problems and delivering solutions. /li liYou’re comfortable working across on‑prem and cloud platforms, including AWS and Oracle Cloud. /li liYou have deep knowledge of backup, recovery, security, and performance tuning best practices. /li liYou’re calm under pressure, detail‑oriented, and focused on continuous technical improvement. /li /ul h3Location /h3 /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
