We are looking for an experienced and highly driven Induction Hardening Process Engineer to join our Industrial Processes team. This is a key technical position for a professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and is passionate about delivering world‑class metallurgical performance, process excellence, and industrial innovation. You will play a critical role in developing, optimizing, and industrializing induction heat treatment processes that ensure our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality, structural reliability, and customer confidence worldwide. As the technical owner of the Induction Hardening Process, you will lead the development and industrialization of induction heat treatment solutions for prototypes, pre‑series, and production applications. Lead the technical development of induction hardening processes for prototypes and new product launches. • Analyze component drawings, geometries, material specifications, and heat treatment requirements to identify potential manufacturing risks., • Define and validate optimal induction parameters including frequency, power density, scanning speed, heating profiles, and quenching conditions., • Design, specify, and optimize induction coils, fixtures, and tooling to ensure process robustness and repeatability., • Perform process trials and root cause analysis during development phases. Industrialization & Process Standardization • Lead the transfer of validated processes from prototype to pre‑series and serial production., • Establish robust process windows and ensure stable, repeatable production performance., • Develop and maintain technical standards, process documentation, work instructions, and best practices., • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle time, improving OEE, increasing process capability, and minimizing scrap., • Identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, and process innovation within induction hardening operations. Production Technical Support • Act as the technical reference for induction hardening across the manufacturing organization., • Support production teams in troubleshooting process deviations, equipment issues, and operational challenges., • Train and coach operators, technicians, and production personnel on process fundamentals, machine setup, and best practices., • Develop adjustment procedures and setup guidelines to guarantee consistent and efficient operation. Quality & Metallurgical Excellence • Collaborate closely with Quality and Laboratory teams to investigate product non‑conformities and customer concerns., • Analyze hardness profiles, metallurgical structures, distortion behavior, and process capability data., • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to induction hardening processes. What We're Looking For Education • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in induction hardening, heat treatment, or thermal process engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment., • Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, steel behavior, microstructures, hardness requirements, and heat treatment technologies. Technical Skills • Deep knowledge of induction heating and hardening technologies., • Expertise in process optimization methodologies and statistical process control., • Ability to interpret metallurgical reports, hardness maps, and laboratory results., • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies., • Analytical mindset with exceptional problem‑solving capabilities., • Hands‑on approach and willingness to work closely with production operations., • High level of autonomy, ownership, and accountability., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills., • Continuous improvement and innovation mindset.
