We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground-breaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance-to-cost propulsion systems. Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which is essential to meet demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade. We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology. We have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D-printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry. We are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team! About the role We are looking for an Additive Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) to join our growing manufacturing team in Barcelona. The ideal candidate combines strong practical experience with LPBF technologies and a hands-on approach to manufacturing. This role focuses on the development, optimization, industrialization, and production of LPBF-manufactured components for demanding aerospace applications. We are looking for an engineer capable of taking ownership of the complete manufacturing workflow, from build preparation and machine operation to process optimization, post-processing, inspection, and continuous improvement. Experience with copper alloys, nickel-based superalloys, and aerospace applications is highly valued. The position will be based in Barcelona. Key Responsibilities - Develop, optimize, and qualify LPBF manufacturing processes for aerospace propulsion components. - Prepare builds, define support strategies, optimize part orientation, and ensure manufacturability of complex geometries. - Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot LPBF equipment during production and development activities. - Develop and optimize process parameters to achieve quality, repeatability, productivity, and performance targets. - Investigate build failures, process deviations, and manufacturing defects through root-cause analysis and corrective actions. - Support Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) activities in collaboration with design and analysis teams. - Coordinate and oversee post-processing activities, including support removal, heat treatment, machining, stress relief, and surface finishing. - Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, materials, and quality teams to support product development and industrialization. - Generate and maintain technical documentation, process specifications, manufacturing reports, and qualification records. - Support process validation, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement initiatives. What you need to be successful - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. - Proven industrial experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technologies. - Experience developing and optimizing LPBF manufacturing processes. - Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting LPBF equipment in a production environment. - Strong understanding of additive manufacturing defects, process control, and failure analysis methodologies. - Experience with post-processing workflows and manufacturing qualification activities. - Knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles. - Strong problem-solving abilities and an execution-oriented mindset. - Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Other useful skills - Experience manufacturing components in copper alloys and nickel-based superalloys. - Experience in aerospace, space, energy, motorsport, or other high-performance industrial sectors. - Familiarity with build preparation, simulation, or additive manufacturing software. - Knowledge of EN9100 or equivalent aerospace quality standards. - Experience with process qualification, validation, and industrialization. - Exposure to other additive manufacturing technologies such as DED, WAAM, Binder Jetting, or EBM is considered a plus.
