This position focuses on the development of student‑athletes, prioritizing academic success, athletic excellence, and personal growth. The Assistant Coach is responsible for on‑court/field coaching, recruitment, compliance monitoring, and administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. /ph3Essential Functions /h3ulliProvide instruction, mentoring, coaching, evaluation and guidance to student‑athletes. Determine appropriate coaching methods and strategies in consultation with the Head Coach. /liliProvide assistance in scheduling and organizing games meets. Develop and communicate practice schedules. /liliFacilitate the implementation and maintenance of a standard of performance consistent with the College's goals of academic and athletic excellence. Promote academic achievement among athletes. /liliAssist in coordination and logistics of official and unofficial campus visits by prospective student athletes. Maintain communications with parents and students as directed by the Head Coach. /liliAssure facilities and equipment are prepared in advance of practice sessions and games/meets/matches. Report monitor proper maintenance of equipment and practice and contest facilities to ensure safe playing conditions. /liliAll other duties as assigned. /li /ulh3Requirements /h3pMinimum Qualifications: /pulliHigh School Diploma or GED. /liliAt least 1 year of relevant experience coaching basketball programs. /liliExcellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills. /liliProficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive). /liliCurrent CPR, AED, and first aid certification required. /liliMust pass the NCAA Division III Coaches Test. /li liAbility and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential. /li liEvidence of a commitment to community and belonging. /li liSuccessful interview. /li liSuccessful completion of background checks. /li liThis position works with minors (non FM students under the age of 18) please review the link below that includes information regarding the protection of minors.
