Job Description Aquatics Site Supervisor Location: SafeSplash Swim School – Arlington / Grand Prairie (Assigned Location) Pay: $17.00–$18.50 per hour (based on experience) Hours: Part-Time, 25–35+ hours per week Schedule The Aquatics Site Supervisor must have flexible availability to support the operational needs of the swim school. Typical operating hours include: Monday through Friday • Morning shifts: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM, • Afternoon and evening shifts: 3:30 PM – 8:30 PM Saturday • Morning and early afternoon shifts: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays is required. Additional hours may be scheduled as needed to support business operations, special events, staff training, instructor coverage, employee call-offs, and other operational needs. Position Overview SafeSplash Swim School is seeking a dependable, confident, and service-driven Aquatics Site Supervisor to lead the daily operations of an assigned location. This individual serves as the on-site leader during scheduled shifts and is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, staff accountability, and the highest level of swimmer safety. The Aquatics Site Supervisor oversees the daily activities of instructors, lifeguards, deck attendants, and guest services staff while fostering a positive team culture built on professionalism, servant leadership, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Aquatics Site Supervisor is expected to lead by example and must be prepared to teach swim lessons, conduct swimmer evaluations, substitute for instructors, and provide in-water coaching whenever operational needs require. Because the Aquatics Site Supervisor is responsible for the successful operation of an assigned location, this position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to adjust work hours based on staffing needs, customer demand, and business operations. In addition to leading daily operations, this individual plays an important role in growing the business by delivering an exceptional customer experience, promoting SafeSplash programs, supporting community outreach efforts, and identifying opportunities to attract, enroll, and retain new swimmers. This position reports directly to the Assistant Manager and serves as the operational leader of the assigned location. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development • Lead and supervise the daily operations of an assigned SafeSplash location., • Serve as the primary leader during assigned shifts., • Coach, mentor, motivate, and develop team members., • Hold employees accountable to SafeSplash standards and expectations., • Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals and priorities., • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and performance., • Foster a positive, respectful, and solutions-based team culture., • Address employee concerns professionally and escalate significant issues to management., • Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new employees. Operations • Ensure lessons begin and end on time., • Verify that instructors are prepared with teaching equipment before classes begin., • Ensure all teaching stations and pool areas are clean, organized, and fully operational., • Complete opening and closing procedures., • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate instructor coverage when necessary., • Ensure all company policies, procedures, and safety standards are consistently followed., • Teach swim lessons as needed to ensure uninterrupted service., • Provide instructor coverage for planned and unexpected staff absences., • Conduct swimmer evaluations and recommend appropriate class placement., • Step into lessons whenever necessary to maintain instructor-to-student ratios, lesson quality, and customer satisfaction., • Demonstrate SafeSplash teaching methods and best practices by leading lessons and mentoring instructors in the water. Customer Experience & Business Growth • Deliver exceptional customer service to every swimmer and family., • Welcome families and create a positive, professional, and welcoming environment., • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally., • Build lasting relationships with swimmers and their families., • Promote customer retention through exceptional service., • Encourage referrals, online reviews, and positive word-of-mouth., • Assist families with swimmer evaluations and class placement recommendations., • Promote SafeSplash programs, camps, clinics, swim team opportunities, and special events., • Identify opportunities to increase enrollment and help convert prospective families into active swimmers., • Support community outreach, marketing initiatives, and local events that help grow the customer base. Safety & Quality Assurance • Ensure strict compliance with all SafeSplash safety standards and procedures., • Monitor lesson quality and provide coaching to instructors., • Conduct routine facility and equipment inspections., • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents., • Complete accident and incident reports accurately and promptly., • Promote a culture where safety is always the highest priority. Administrative Responsibilities • Complete daily operational reports and checklists., • Communicate staffing, maintenance, and operational concerns to management., • Support enrollment events, swim evaluations, camps, and community outreach activities., • Assist with instructor evaluations and performance reviews., • Maintain accurate attendance and operational records. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent., • Minimum of six months of successful employment with SafeSplash or previous supervisory experience in aquatics, hospitality, recreation, customer service, or a related field., • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities may change throughout the day., • Demonstrated ability to confidently lead, motivate, coach, and hold a team accountable., • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure., • Current CPR, First Aid, and all required certifications, or the ability to obtain them., • Must be qualified to teach all SafeSplash swim levels and lesson formats, including group, semi-private, private, adaptive, and adult lessons., • Demonstrated knowledge of the SafeSplash curriculum and teaching philosophy., • Must possess a growth mindset and be committed to continuous personal and professional development. Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience as a Lead Swim Instructor or Instructor Trainer., • Previous supervisory or management experience in aquatics, recreation, hospitality, or customer service., • Experience coaching and developing employees., • Experience with customer retention, enrollment growth, and community engagement. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds., • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and assist swimmers in and around the pool., • Ability to enter and exit the pool multiple times throughout the workday., • Ability to actively teach swim lessons in the water, including demonstrating swim techniques and providing hands-on instruction., • Ability to work in a warm, humid pool environment for extended periods., • Ability to move quickly throughout the facility to assist staff, families, and swimmers as operational needs arise., • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately during emergency situations.
