Job Description Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker supports the printing press operator by running automated machines that print on bags and pouches, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and efficient work area. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that involves frequent lifting of 40–50 pounds, working with rolls of material and ink, and contributing to smooth production operations on the manufacturing floor. Responsibilities • Assist the printing press operator in running automated machines that print on bags and pouches., • Load and unload materials into the machines, including rolls of material, ink, and other production supplies., • Handle and move materials throughout the plant, including mounting materials as needed., • Perform general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, picking, labeling, and operating on the production line., • Conduct visual inspections to ensure product quality and identify any defects or inconsistencies., • Use tape measures, basic tools, and equipment to support accurate production and setup., • Support inventory activities by handling, tracking, and organizing materials and finished products., • Assist with operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment, if trained and authorized., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, especially during downtime, to support safety and efficiency., • Follow blueprints, instructions, or production specifications when required., • Apply mechanical aptitude to understand machine operation and support basic troubleshooting., • Work collaboratively as a team player to meet production goals and support coworkers., • Adhere to all safety procedures and operational guidelines while working on or around machinery., • Participate in learning opportunities to develop skills for roles such as printing press operator or bag machine adjuster. Essential Skills • Experience in production, manufacturing, or general production environments., • Work history in roles such as operator, assembly, or packaging., • Ability to perform material handling tasks, including lifting 40–50 pounds regularly., • Comfort working with automated machines and production lines., • Basic ability to use a tape measure accurately., • Mechanical aptitude to understand and support machine operations., • Ability to perform visual inspections for quality control., • Capability to follow instructions, blueprints, or production specifications when required., • Willingness to perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the work area., • Team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively with others., • Reliability in adhering to assigned shifts and production schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with forklifts or other material-handling equipment., • Familiarity with labeling, picking, and inventory activities in a manufacturing setting., • Experience using power tools in an industrial or production environment., • Exposure to printing, bag production, or packaging operations., • Interest in learning advanced machine operation, such as printing press operation or bag machine adjustment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality., • Willingness to cross-train in multiple production tasks. Work Environment The role is based at a manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, NM, operating in a production and printing environment focused on bags and pouches. Employees work around automated printing presses, material-handling equipment, and production lines, with frequent interaction with rolls of material, ink, and packaging components. The facility runs multiple shifts: a first shift typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and a second shift typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or schedule adjustments as needed. Each shift is approximately 7.5 hours with two 15-minute breaks. The work is physically demanding, involving regular lifting of 40–50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in an active production floor environment. Employees are expected to follow standard industrial safety practices and wear appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and printing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
