Job DescriptionJob Title: Fire Alarm TechnicianJob Description This role focuses on installing and servicing fire alarm and low voltage systems on commercial job sites across Long Island. You will start each day at the central shop and then travel with the team to various locations to support safe, compliant, and reliable fire alarm installations. Responsibilities • Install commercial fire alarm systems and related low voltage systems according to project specifications and applicable codes., • Perform wiring, pulling wire, and terminating connections for fire alarm and low voltage components., • Install, bend, and route conduit to support clean, organized, and compliant electrical and low voltage installations., • Assist with inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to verify proper operation and code compliance., • Support service work on existing fire alarm systems, including troubleshooting and basic repairs as needed., • Read and follow basic plans, drawings, or instructions to complete fire alarm installation tasks accurately., • Work safely on commercial job sites, following all safety procedures and using appropriate tools and equipment., • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete daily assignments efficiently and on schedule., • Report to the shop each morning, prepare tools and materials, and travel with the team to job sites across Long Island.Essential Skills, • 3–5 years of experience working with fire alarm and/or low voltage systems., • Hands-on experience with fire alarm system installation in commercial environments., • Practical electrical skills, including wiring and basic electrical troubleshooting., • Proficiency in pulling wire and routing cabling for low voltage and fire alarm systems., • Experience installing and working with conduit for electrical and low voltage installations., • Ability to assist with inspection and testing of fire alarm systems., • Comfort working with low voltage systems and related components., • Reliability in reporting to the shop daily and traveling to job sites across Long Island.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • No formal certifications required for this role., • Interest in growing as a junior-level technician and developing long-term skills in fire alarm and low voltage work., • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and installation methods under the guidance of experienced technicians., • Ability to work on commercial construction sites and adapt to changing job locations.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a commercial fire alarm installation setting. You start each day at the shop in Brentwood, where you meet the team and then travel together to job sites across Suffolk and Nassau counties on Long Island. Work takes place on active commercial job sites, involving hands-on installation of fire alarm and low voltage systems, wiring, and conduit work. The role requires comfort working in the field, moving between different locations, and adapting to typical construction site conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brentwood, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
