Job Description Job Summary: The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in the oversight of daily operational functions, process improvement initiatives, branch support activities, and administrative operations. This position serves as a working leader who provides guidance and direction to Operations staff, coordinates operational projects, monitors departmental performance, and ensures the efficient execution of operational processes. The Assistant Operations Manager acts as a resource for branches and departments while helping maintain compliance, service standards, and organizational objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with the day-to-day management of the Operations Department., • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and guidance to Operations Assistants., • Assist in assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring departmental workloads., • Support employee onboarding and cross-training within Operations., • Serve as a departmental resource for branch and corporate staff., • Act as backup to the Operations Manager during absences., • Assist with performance coaching and development of Operations staff., • Oversee daily operational activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence., • Monitor departmental workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement., • Assist with implementation and maintenance of operational procedures., • Create, edit, test, and review departmental procedures and documentation., • Coordinate operational support activities for branch locations and corporate departments., • Track and monitor departmental projects, assignments, and deadlines., • Assist with vendor relationships, service requests, and operational purchasing., • Review operational reports for accuracy and completeness., • Monitor departmental performance metrics and recommend improvements., • Conduct quality control reviews of operational processes., • Assist in audits, examinations, and compliance reviews., • Research operational issues and implement corrective actions when needed., • Generate and maintain reports related to operational functions and departmental performance., • Assist with branch operational support initiatives., • Coordinate branch supply ordering and distribution., • Assist with facility and operational escalations., • Support organizational projects, branch openings, relocations, and operational initiatives., • Serve as a resource for operational systems, procedures, and troubleshooting., • Assist with organizational programs including Skip-A-Pay, operational campaigns, and special projects., • Coordinate implementation of new processes, procedures, and operational enhancements., • Manage assigned projects from planning through completion., • Track project milestones and provide regular updates to management., • Upholds the compliance requirement of all related federal regulations, including but not limited to; the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures. Complete annual BSA training requirements as established by SunWest Credit Union., • Perform other duties as needed. Education/ Work Experience/Skill Requirements: • Strong leadership and coaching abilities., • Advanced organizational and multitasking skills., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities., • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines., • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency., • Experience developing and maintaining procedures., • Understanding of Credit Union operations and philosophy., • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Education and Work Experience: • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred., • 5+ years of operational, administrative, or financial institution experience., • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or lead experience., • Experience in project management, process improvement, or operational oversight preferred., • Valid driver's license required. Physical Requirements: • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and applicable laws., • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance., • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds., • Frequent travel between branch locations., • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use standard office equipment for extended periods., • Ability to communicate effectively in person, electronically, and by telephone.Company DescriptionSunWest was founded on the belief that financial institutions should exist to serve.
