Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Assembler / Production Assembly TechnicianJob Description Join a growing advanced manufacturing team as a Production Assembler, working on cutting-edge fuel cells used in the railroad industry and drones for aviation and defense applications. In this role, you perform hands-on mechanical assembly, batching and mixing, and machine operation while closely following safety, quality, and production standards. You contribute directly to the build of innovative products in a clean, organized, and highly collaborative environment. Responsibilities • Perform batching and mixing activities, including accurate use of scales to measure materials., • Carry out machine operations using appropriate hand tools and equipment as directed., • Operate mechanical equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures., • Perform mechanical and production assembly operations to build fuel cells and related components., • Follow all safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Record production and test data as specified, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail., • Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles., • Perform duties that meet defined quality, part, and production specifications and standards., • Become trained on and routinely perform up to three Standard Processes within the production line., • Act as a positive, respectful team member, communicating clearly and accepting direction constructively., • Communicate issues, concerns, or irregularities promptly and effectively to support successful operations., • Exercise independent judgment within your primary job functions to solve problems and maintain workflow., • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality; being on time and present for work is critical in this position., • Assume additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support production goals.Essential Skills, • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a production or assembly environment., • Basic mechanical assembly skills, including working with components and fasteners., • Ability to perform batch mixing with accurate use of scales and measurement tools., • Experience with machine operation or a strong aptitude for learning equipment operation., • Comfort using hand tools for assembly and fabrication tasks., • Ability to perform quality inspection and follow detailed work instructions., • Computer literacy sufficient to navigate spreadsheets, watch training videos, and work in test stations., • Ability to see color accurately to ensure correct wiring and component identification., • Good manual dexterity to handle small parts, tools, and detailed assembly work., • Strong attention to detail and ability to record data with high accuracy., • Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to consistent attendance., • Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE correctly.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience using small hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, screw drills, hand drills, snips, and dryers., • At least 6 months of machine operation experience is preferred, or a strong willingness to learn., • Familiarity with mechanical fabrication processes., • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven production environment., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and leadership.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a new, air-conditioned manufacturing facility with organized workstations and a focus on 5S principles. You will work with mechanical equipment, production machinery, hand tools, and test stations, using computers to access spreadsheets and training videos. Shifts are structured as a 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and a 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with voluntary overtime available only after you are fully trained. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of PPE, cleanliness, and teamwork, with access to an on-site gym that can be used before or after your shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
