Job DescriptionJob Title: Machine Operator (3rd Shift)Job Description This role operates a variety of heavy industrial machines to press, form, and shape thick metal components used in aerospace and airplane frame production. You will work on 3rd shift in a structured manufacturing environment, using measuring tools and production equipment to produce high-quality metal parts while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Responsibilities • Operate a range of metal forming machines, including band saws, press machines, bump machines, stretch machines, and other production equipment as assigned., • Press and form thick metal parts that will be used in the manufacture of airplane frames and other aerospace components., • Set up machines and monitor operations to ensure parts are produced to required specifications and quality standards., • Use a tape measure and other measuring tools extensively to verify part dimensions and tolerances throughout the production process., • Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation to understand part requirements and machine settings., • Perform basic CNC machine operation as needed to support production requirements., • Use jib cranes or overhead cranes safely to move, position, and handle heavy metal materials and parts., • Assist with saw operation, including bandsaw and other cutting equipment, to cut metal stock to size prior to forming., • Support furnace and forge operations as needed, including working with furnace equipment and forged metal parts., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all housekeeping and 5S practices., • Follow all safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and report any unsafe conditions., • Collaborate with team members and assist in other areas of the shop as needed to meet production goals., • Work assigned 3rd shift hours consistently and be available for additional hours or days as needed based on production demands., • Complete required training on day shift for the designated period before transitioning to the regular shift schedule.Essential Skills, • At least 5 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment., • Experience in metal manufacturing or forging industry., • Proven experience operating production machines such as press machines, press brakes, stretch machines, and similar equipment., • Ability to operate CNC machines in a production environment., • Experience operating jib cranes or overhead cranes for material handling., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for extensive measuring tasks., • Strong blueprint reading skills for metal fabrication and production work., • Hands-on experience with bandsaws, saw cutting, and general saw operation., • Background in industrial fabrication, sheet metal work, or forge operations., • Comfort working with plasma cutting, production machinery, and machine operation in a heavy industrial setting., • Solid math skills to perform measurements, conversions, and basic calculations related to part dimensions and machine setup., • Consistent and stable work history demonstrating good job tenure.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Furnace operator experience in a manufacturing or forging environment., • Extensive measuring experience beyond basic tape measure use., • CNC operating experience across various types of machines., • Experience with various machine operations in a high-volume production setting., • Forklift experience in an industrial or fabrication environment., • Background in industrial, fabrication, or sheet metal shops., • Ability to work effectively across different shifts after completing required training., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a heavy manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and subject to typical industrial conditions. While the exterior of the building is older, the shop itself is kept as clean and organized as possible, with tools, materials, and areas clearly labeled and extremely well arranged. The role requires wearing steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a work shirt, along with all appropriate personal protective equipment provided or required by the facility. The 3rd shift schedule typically runs Sunday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., then Monday through Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with Thursday worked as needed based on production demands. All new hires train on day shift for a period, generally ranging from at least two weeks up to 30–90 days, before moving to their regular shift. Day shift generally runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and additional hours on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday as needed. An off-shift (2nd shift) schedule of Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. may also operate within the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookside Village, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
