Network Engineer \n \n Rate - £58 (an hour) \n Location - Bracknell (Hybrid) \n Duration - 12 Months (Initially) \n Ir35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company) \n \n What will you do: \n\n • Provide triage, analysis, and resolution of network incidents\n, • End-to-end incident management, bringing in additional skilled resources as required\n, • Engage or defer to other technical teams as required in resolution of incidents\n, • Act as major incident manager (MIM) when incident impact warrants it\n, • Provide timely updates to stakeholders or incident manager during incidents\n, • Hands on troubleshooting and configuration of networking equipment including Cisco, Meraki, and others as required\n, • Participate in global on-call rotation, including some weekend requirements\n, • Leverage network management systems (NMS) to understand issues and pinpoint where the problem likely is and the impact it is causing\n, • Collect packet captures as necessary; perform initial diagnosis of output where possible\n, • Interface with local contacts and service providers as needed to resolve site connectivity, hardware, service issues; hold providers accountable to SLAs\n, • Proactively identify, engage, and act on situations where "things could be better"\n, • Continually evaluate network capacity and performance; make recommendations for design changes as appropriate\n, • Assist with on-going maintenance of CMDB information and updates of our internal Knowledge Base\n, • Fulfillment of DNS/DHCP requests such as A or CNAME record requests, new DHCP scope requests, or updating MX records\n, • Implementation of changes as defined and requested by design and planning team\n\n \n What do you need to have: \n\n • 3+ years' hands on troubleshooting and configuration experience in supporting large multi-national corporate networks utilizing a diverse set of technologies and vendors\n, • 3+ years working directly in Cisco IOS and the Meraki dashboard\n, • 3+ years troubleshooting and configuring WLAN technologies; Cisco and Meraki experience desired.\n, • Experience working with Cisco NSO, SAE, UCS, ISE, and DUO is desired\n, • Experience with VMware\n, • Demonstrated ability to use IOS and Meraki dashboard in the troubleshooting and configuration of the network\n, • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or comparable certification required or demonstrable work experience and skill\n, • Comfortable collecting packet captures\n, • Firm understanding and application of network protocols and functions including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SDWAN, IPAM, SDN, ACL, Spanning Tree, VLAN, OSI Model, NetFlow, TACACs\n, • Ability to convey complex technical topics into layman terms while under time constraints\n, • Ability to leverage NMS tools (such as Nagios, SevOne, LiveNX, SolarWinds, NetScout, ServiceNow, Meraki Dashboard, etc.) to diagnose & triage issues or requests\n, • Familiarity with the use and limitations of syslogs, SNMP traps, device polling, NetFlow, and other management functions\n, • Understanding of ITIL and its principles such as event, incident, problem, and change management\n, • Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities at one time while meeting deadlines\n, • Experience participating in network implementation & refresh projects\n, • Experience working with customers remotely and over the phone to assist with network troubleshooting\n
