With a track record of spotting opportunities, understanding the market and driving innovative solutions, we deliver a reliable service which reduces the impact on the environment of our clients' waste, whilst creating cost-effective and reliable waste management outcomes which encourage a greener business acumen. \n About the role: \n To operate mobile and fixed plant to ensure the safe and compliant storage of designated waste streams/recyclables within nominated bunkers or containers at the operating sites to ensure the safe loading of vehicles for onward transfer of material from the operating sites. \n Note: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. \n Responsibilities: \n\n • Operate appropriate machinery and plant, as required, to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the site at all times.\n, • Ensure that plant and machinery is maintained to required standards, including daily & weekly checks, refuelling, lubrication and greasing, and that defects and breakdowns are promptly recorded and reported.\n, • Maintain a safe working environment throughout your activities, including keeping working area tidy and access to walkways and emergency exits clear.\n, • Ensure appropriate safety equipment and PPE is used at all times.\n, • Checking of incoming loads, ensuring compliance with site license and permitted waste types.\n, • Immediately report: any contamination or non-conforming wastes delivered to site; accidents, incidents, and near misses; environmental hazards; health & safety breaches to the Supervisor or appropriate Manager.\n, • Undertake any training necessary to perform other tasks including the operation of other plant and equipment and/or supervisory duties.\n, • Complete Manual Handling activities to assist in waste management activities.\n, • Assist other operatives upon request and when authorised by your Supervisor.\n, • Carry out other operational duties where necessary for business continuity.\n, • Staff have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work.\n\n About you: \n Essentials: \n\n • Good Communication\n, • Ability to operate and control equipment\n, • Time and Priority Management\n, • Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment\n, • Previous experience operating plant, such as loading shovels, telehandlers, 360\n, • A ticket for mobile/ fixed plant\n\n Desirable: \n\n • Problem Solving\n, • Experience in the Waste Industry\n, • Experience with Shredders, Shovels, Excavators & Conveyors\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Life Insurance with access to GP24\n, • Commitment to wellbeing through Employee Assistance Programme\n, • Electric Car salary sacrifice scheme for eligible employees\n, • Cycle to work scheme\n, • Company Events\n, • GymFlex salary sacrifice\n\n Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV for this role. \n Overseas candidates will NOT be considered for this role.
