This is a key role within a COMAH-regulated environment , responsible for ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the operation.Working closely with the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, you will play a hands-on role in embedding a strong safety culture and maintaining effective H&S systems across the site.Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include:Risk Management & ComplianceConduct and develop Risk Assessments, ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented and maintainedProduce and maintain Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)Complete specialist risk assessments where competent (e.g. COSHH)Ensure all H&S systems and procedures are compliant with COMAH requirementsContractor & Permit ControlManage contractor activity on-site, including permit-to-work systemsReview and approve RAMS for third-party contractorsIncident & Audit ManagementSupport accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsTrack and manage actions through to completionAssist with and lead internal audits, ensuring compliance and continuous improvementEnsure non-conformances and audit actions are effectively closed outSystems & DocumentationMaintain H&S databases, software systems, and shared drivesManage controlled documentation and ensure accuracy and accessibilitySupport the maintenance and development of the H&S Management SystemOperational Safety & MonitoringEnsure completion of equipment checks and site inspectionsMaintain effective emergency response systems and proceduresSupport Fire Marshal training and wider emergency response readinessEngagement & CulturePlay an active role in H&S meetings, including preparation, action tracking, and follow-upPromote a positive safety culture across all departments through coaching, guidance, and engagementSupport delivery of H&S training where requiredStrategy & Continuous ImprovementWork with the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to deliver the site H&S strategic planDrive improvements in safety performance and compliance across the operationQualifications Accuracy and attention to detailGood IT skills with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to work alone or as part of a teamConscientious and reliableFlexible attitudeStrong, concise and effective communicator at all levelsAbility to work efficiently and accurately under pressureGood time management skillsProactive with the ability to make decisionsHave a good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operationIOSH/NEBOSH qualified (or working towards)Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974)Experience of creating Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, etc. (desirable)Additional Information hen our staff have passion for what they do they work with more care and attention which is reflected to our clients, Click APPLY NOW to #JoinOurWinningTeam and begin your career today!TPBN1_UKTJ
