Team – R&D Engineering Location – Cambridge, UK Contract – Full-time, Permanent CGD is seeking an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer to develop new GaN Power IC solutions. The role is based in Cambridge, with occasional travel required. • Design and layout of GaN power ICs using EDA tools, including schematic capture, analog simulations, chip layout review, PEX, and PLS., • Design and implement solutions for GaN Power IC testing, conducting wafer‑level and packaged device tests., • Produce detailed documentation, support chip evaluation, and debugging., • Develop SPICE models of GaN ICs., • Generate IP and assist the management team with patent applications and IP management., • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or science subject., • Experience in analog design with GaN., • Comprehensive knowledge of analog IC design., • Skilled in the EDA design process: schematic capture, analog simulations, layout, DRC, LVS, PEX, PLS., • Strong knowledge of electrical test and characterisation of analog ICs for prototyping and mass production., • Excellent project management skills., • Creative thinker with practical skills and experience., • Inspires confidence in colleagues, partners, and customers., • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment., • Pro‑active and responsive to changing project and business needs., • Strong communication and presentation skills., • Mindset for precise, high‑quality results., • Attention to detail., • Experience in the semiconductor industry preferred., • Experience with power ICs preferred., • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and Mentor Calibre preferred., • Excellent salary., • Share option scheme available., • Pension scheme (6% company contribution)., • Life Assurance (3x salary)., • Private Health Insurance., • Medicash cash plan., • Annual leave allowance of 33 days (including bank holidays)., • Holiday Purchase Scheme., • Training and career development., • Family friendly policies., • Cycle to work scheme., • EV leasing scheme., • Volunteer leave., • IP bonus scheme., • Involvement in collaborative projects and grants with University of Cambridge and other partners., • Recruitment referral bonus., • Regular social events including company lunches, Christmas party, team building and wellbeing activities.
