Senior Quantity Surveyor Major Water Infrastructure Framework Location: Hybrid / Site Based Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international engineering and construction organisation delivering a long-term £500 million water infrastructure framework. With secured work extending through to 2031, you'll play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of capital investment projects valued between £10 million and £30 million, operating under NEC contracts. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial leadership across multiple projects, ensuring robust contract administration, effective cost management and successful commercial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with operational, engineering and project delivery teams, you'll identify commercial opportunities, manage contractual risk and support the delivery of projects safely, efficiently and profitably. Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial administration of NEC contracts, ensuring all contractual notices, communications and documentation are accurate, compliant and issued within required timescales. Identify, assess and manage commercial risks, opportunities, variations, compensation events and contractual entitlements. Maintain comprehensive records relating to change management, extensions of time, claims and contract correspondence. Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment and supporting commercial documentation. Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash flow projections and budget reporting. Support tender reviews, pre-contract negotiations and commercial reporting where required. Contribute to value engineering and value management initiatives to maximise project performance. Participate in commercial and project risk workshops, providing advice on contractual and financial risk mitigation. Manage subcontract procurement from tender through to final account settlement. Evaluate subcontract quotations, undertake commercial comparisons and support procurement planning. Monitor labour, plant and material expenditure against project budgets and forecasts. Produce change control reports and monitor commercial performance throughout project delivery. Provide mentoring and commercial guidance to junior team members while promoting continuous improvement and best practice. About You We're looking for an ambitious commercial professional who enjoys working within complex infrastructure environments and is confident leading commercial activities across major engineering projects. You will ideally have: Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or major construction projects. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management principles. Experience delivering projects involving civil, mechanical, infrastructure or non-infrastructure works. Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk, maximise value and resolve contractual issues. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence project teams. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, digital reporting and modern commercial processes. Experience mentoring or leading commercial team members. Membership of RICS or CICES, or be working towards achieving full professional accreditation.
