The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretary General (SG) – Shareholder Relations and Institutional Matters Department (SRIM) – Institutional Representation Division (IRD) at the EIB Local office in Madrid, Spain: TRAINEE. /p pbDuration: /b 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026). /p pbEligibility /b – only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union and citizens from countries officially granted candidate status to join the EU (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine). Applicants whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Please limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three applications submitted will be considered. /p pbObjective of the traineeship /b – Plan and TechEU, it is expected that this institutional engagement improves EIBG's pipeline of operations in several areas of the organisation under InvestEU and Own Resources (inc. EIF, Advisory and Financial Instruments). The Madrid Office needs you to support its representation role and the organisation of activities for the roll out of programmes such as RRF, InvestEU, TechEU. You will report to the Head of Office and also work together with the Senior Institutional Affairs Officer, Office Manager and Ops Assistant. The office has representations from all business areas of the Bank, including EIF, so you may be exposed to origination activities (signatures and protocol events) from an institutional angle (press releases, event preparation, data for briefings, etc.) in relation to Mandates and EIB own account. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liOrganisation of events and meetings (logistics and invitations), liaising with the venues, creating list of VIPs for invitations. /li liContacting public organisations. /li liLiaising with colleagues from EU Commission and EU Parliament. /li liCollecting data, preparing databases, and perform guided analysis. /li liPreparing presentations, writing draft notes, screen out interlocutors and companies, and other tasks as needed. /li liSupport the Head of Office with the development of Social Media to improve the communication of the Office and the EIB projects in Spain. /li /ul h3Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills /h3 ul liFinal year of studies or University degree preferably in Communication and/or Business Administration. /li liKnowledge of artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 tools would be an advantage. /li liGood communication skills and proactive attitude. /li liGood drafting skills. /li liExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Power Point; Working knowledge of Social Media platforms, specially Linked‑In. /li liExcellent knowledge of written and spoken English/French; knowledge of Spanish is a strong advantage. /li /ul h3Competencies /h3 pFind out more about EIB core competencies here. /p h3Security and Confidentiality /h3 pBy applying for this position, you acknowledge the importance of maintaining the security and integrity of the information of the EIB Group.
