ppWe are looking for an bRD Senior Control Engineer /b to join our Product Innovation Development team in Seville, working on next-generation solutions for bPower Conversion Systems, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), renewable integration, and grid-forming technologies /b. /p pYou will be part of a highly qualified multidisciplinary team composed of experts in power electronics, control systems, firmware, software, hardware, validation, and mechanical engineering. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative modular converter platforms for grid-connected and DC applications, helping shape the future of energy systems. /p pThis position offers strong technical exposure, involvement in cutting‑edge RD projects, and the opportunity to work on technologies deployed worldwide. /p h3How You’ll Make an Impact /h3 ul liDevelop and implement advanced bcontrol algorithms /b for power converters, electrical machines, and renewable energy systems. /li liAnalyse system stability and electrical transients, including faults, voltage dips, frequency disturbances, and power oscillation damping (POD). /li liPerform modelling and simulation of electrical systems, renewable plants, microgrids, and storage solutions using tools such as bPSCAD /b. /li liSupport grid code compliance studies and validation of Grid‑Following and Grid‑Forming control strategies. /li liConduct proof‑of‑concept activities, debugging, commissioning, and validation of power conversion systems in laboratory environments. /li liAnalyse logs, signals, and performance metrics, generating clear technical reports to support engineering, quality, and certification teams. /li /ul h3Your Background /h3 ul liBSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Power Systems, or related field. /li liStrong knowledge of bfrequency and voltage regulation controls /b for electrical networks. /li liHands‑on experience with bPSCAD /b or similar simulation tools; knowledge of PowerFactory or PSSE is valued. /li liProven experience developing and implementing bclosed‑loop control systems /b for power electronics converters and/or electrical machines. /li liKnowledge of bGrid‑Forming and Grid‑Following systems /b, renewable integration, and energy storage applications. /li liProficiency in bC/C++ and Python /b; experience with HIL systems and grid code compliance is a plus. /li liAdvanced English level and strong motivation to work on innovative energy technologies. /li /ul h3About Us /h3 pbHitachi Energy /b is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital solutions at the core.
